Hi,
Thanks for Meerun. I use Meerun for several years. It's really a great software. For few days, maps don't display anymore. The path appears but the background map from osm doesnt appear. Could it be an issue due to osm api evolution? Or could it be a consequence of sailfisf OS 4 upgrade?
Thanks for your help
Best regards

badidea's picture

Same issue here. Meerun seems to use a MapQuest tile server, but MapQuest made some changes in 2016, see: https://developer.mapquest.com/devblog/2016/06/15/modernization-of-mapqu...
My phone reports (when running harbour-meerun from terminal) many times:
[W] unknown:0 - QGeoTileRequestManager: Failed to fetch tile (4220,2726,13) 5 times, giving up. Last error message was: 'Host otile1.mqcdn.com not found'
But the map view did work in Sailfish 3.x and stopped working in 4.0 (to which I upgraded only recently). So the issue is in this QGeoTileRequestManager? How to fix that?
The chance that meerun itself gets updated is small, also the android version is also not updated any more.

Any chance for a 64-bit version once the SailfishOS will be available for Sony Xperia X ?

Update 2017-10-19
No need, as harbour-meerun-3.3.15-1.armv7hl.rpm is possible to install on SFOS X (2.1.3.5) using same approach as 2.1.1.24

Maps and audio works.

With JollaC I can enable bluetooth, and I am able to see the paired Polar H7, however, when selecting it, MeeRun crash.

Hope this will be sorted out in a future update.

The same for me. I use Jolla C with Xiaomi Mi Band 2.

Hello!
Is it possible to use offline maps in the program?

DrYak's picture

I have no experience with this myself, but I would suggest investigating
OSM Scout Server

It's a tile server that could serve map data to other applications. (i.e.: the applications - like Poor Maps or MeeRun? - are still only using online maps. Except that the map server actually runs on the smartphone it self).

Any progress regard Bluetooth Smart/Low Energy Heartreate monitors and Bluez 5 / Qt 5.6 ?

mattl's picture

This was a good sports trakking software, but now it hasn't beed updatet in almost a year.

Now it doent work with new sailfish without using developer mode and bluetooth hrm has been broken a year since last update. Android app shows last update fall 2016 so this project looks to be dead.

jdrescher's picture

Although the developer wrote here some weeks ago I am afraid you are right.

It would be nice to have a native open source sport tracker for SFOS.

Maybe it's time to start one...

Beethoven's picture

That sucks, I love this app :/

Am I the only one with this graphical bug?

When I start a training by swiping to the left, somehow the main view gets stuck in the background half the way in. This stays during the whole training in every page. It does not happen if I load an older training however.

I'm on latest Iijoki 2.1.0.11 with harbour-meerun-3.3.15-1.armv7hl.rpm, but as I recall this bug has been around for a longer time.

Hi!
Are we going to get BLE device support?
https://together.jolla.com/question/153631/release-notes-210iijoki/
"Bluez5 (5.43) is included in this update
-- support for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)"

bwalter's picture

Yes, at least that should not be an issue anymore with Bluez5 and Qt 5.6. And there should be more improvements thanks to the updated Qt version :)

jdrescher's picture

I am also looking forward to this, would be really nice.

hoschi's picture

I would appreciate it :)

paulvt's picture

Oh, great! Looking forward to that!

DarkTuring's picture

Cannot silence voice of announcements km, min, sec.

Also it would be nice if thr voice announcement could just limit itself to state minutes for wgatever interval you pick, since you already know the interval (lap) why announce it? So it would go like this:

Ran 8miles: Announcement 1 after 1mile 9.5minutes, Announcement after 2miles 7.5minutes etc thats it! no seconds and no miles needed.

hetas's picture

I've had some problems with workouts getting corrupted when saving it initially.

You can se the workout in the workout list but when trying to open it you just get error message saying "The workout could not be loaded!" The workout also doesn't appear in the portal.

I think this might be related to longer workouts of over 15 km. I have the measurement interval set to 1 second. So maybe something to do with file size.

This is also a guess but seems that after stopping the workout if you wait longer in the save or delete-screen before saving the workout is less likely to be corrupted. So maybe Meerun should keep processing the workout in the background after saving. Or not let user continue saving the workout until it is processed fully.

Jolla C with Sailfish OS 2.0.5.6, Meerun 3.3.15.

Thank You for this great software. I've donated and will donate more if this app is still developed. There hasn't been updated in a while and the packageing and here maps are still broken.

DarkTuring's picture

When playing FM radio through basic SFOS media app on Aquafish with SFOS 2.0.5.6 the volume of music is not attenuated and MeeRun announcements are made.

Just to clarify FM radio only plays with earphones plugged in because it uses the cable as an antenna.

I believe this may be a bug. Within MeRun i have selected to attenuate music.

paulvt's picture

Hey DarkTuring. It seems that all sound modifications for announcements do not work (pause, attenuate, etc.), for me it just announce through the music that is playing.

Btw, I could only get announcements and music working with the in-MeeRun player? Any audio application outside of MeeRun would be blocked on the first MeeRun announcement up until I quit it. I'm surprised you can listen to the FM?

Could someone post some step-by-step instructions how to install Meerun again on the latest Sailfish OS? I've tried some of the tips below but so far no success. Thanks in advance!

meerun works fine - should be a dependecy-version problem in the meerun package

armorica's picture

Meerun is uninstalled by upgrade to Haapajoki (early access) on Jolla 1.

I was still running (went back to) version 2.3.4-1 in order to keep my heart monitoring running. Tested with 3.3.15-1 as well. Both won't install under Haapajoki.

Upgrade would be most appreciated. Cheers.

tvicol's picture

Here maps no longer working in 2.0.5/Haapajoki .

this may be related to "HERE location API: api.nokia.com replaced with api.here.com" ?

DrYak's picture

Hello,
I've notived the same on my phone :
- 2.0.5/Haapajoki does uninstall it.
- It won't re-install directly due to missing dependency.

I've looked into it :
- As you suggest, the missing dependency is related to "qt5-plugin-geoservices-nokia" which doesn't exist in Haapajoki anymore (instead it was replaced with "qt5-plugin-geoservices-here". Whereas "qt5-plugin-geoservices-osm" is still available as before).

- But if forcing the install (eg.:
zypper install --force harbour-meerun
), then meerun works normally.
(Note: I use OSM as map layer source, so maybe people relying formelly on Nokia would having missing maps).

The meerun devs will probably able to fix this quickly.

Thanks a lot. This has fixed it for me.
