Yes, api v3v4?

Mister_Magister's picture

I've added some more detailed info about that in description, check it out

Great application update! Works perfect since I last time downloaded it.
But it has some issues:

1. Every video somehow lags on my Xperia XA2 running Sailfish OS 4.3. Not same smooth as if it was through Browser or some android application as like NewPipe.
2. No history :c (brynz already said about it, but anyways)

ferlanero's picture

No lags here. Maybe connection issues?

Khazarli's picture

No, connection is perfect. It lags in meaning it doesn't go in 60 fps as usually, something around 24 I guess

Mister_Magister's picture

Could be something related to hw decoding of vp9. Since jolla managed to break decoding of avc1, i wouldn't be surprised

Mister_Magister's picture

Are you running 4K? :D Maybe resolution is too high? no reason why would it lag

Khazarli's picture

Actually I ran 1080p first time. I thought it also may do some lags, so I switched 720p, but it didn't help.

brynz's picture

Grateful for musthave apps. It would be great to have view history in microtube

Mister_Magister's picture

will add it to massive todo list :P But currently i'll be shifting focus back to yotti

What type of app should we select when creatong an OAuth key? I selected internet app, and when I then try to log in utube I a web page opens that this type is not supported.

Mister_Magister's picture

Desktop app will do
You need to allow youtube data api scope

elkiaer's picture

I have run "zypper ref && zypper dup" and could see that nodejs will be removed and nodejs18 will be installed.
That didn't help.
I will now try to uninstall nodejs18 and see if that helps.

Mister_Magister's picture

nodejs18 has to be installed though

Xa2 4.2 Small glitch: when you click on a channel you are taken to the channel page, but the links to videos listed there do not work. Well, who cares, everything works so much better. This update was a wonderful job. Thanks a lot. Grab a fresh beer!

Mister_Magister's picture

yeah but you can click play all and then it will work :D I forgot to fix it

elkiaer's picture

Can't install microtube-3.0.0-1.aarch64.rpm on my Sonny 10III, receive an error, also when downloading the installation file to the phone.
Command "rpm" not found

Mister_Magister's picture

Something is broken with your phone

elkiaer's picture

What could it be, for example, I am able to install Musikilo.

Mister_Magister's picture

have you tried uninstalling microtube and nodejs first like description mentioned?

Bsingleto's picture

Looks like some wotk is going on here. videos on the initial page after the app is opened load now. Yippy. Search results don't give back any results but i can tell something is in the works. excited. When trying to load subscription list, its empty because i deleted my cache files and data associated with the app. You know what woulf be nice and a game changer here on Jolla would be the option for this app to recognize my /json/db/opml/csv files of my backed up YT subscription list from the saved file feom my android storage download folder or any folder file.

Bsingleto's picture

Its actually unavailable to download. i uninstalled this app since it wasnt working to my standards again with that no connection " error once again. I knew what that means again so i removed the app. Its been enjoyable but since it stop working for more then a week, i knew it was somehow broken again. updates and broken services happen every other season with this repo app so i will check back on it and hopefully its useable in the second half of 2022. Thanka for all the work on thia app

Mister_Magister's picture

Good news i'm completely remaking microtube, without minitube backend, so that i have way more control over what happens and such issue shouldn't happen anymore

NGC_Ollie's picture

Hi, thanks a lot for this tool, I use it on a daily basis. Since a few weeks the download is pretty slow and watching videos almost impossible. Is this maybe of youtube-dl, there seems to be a bug, or a similar issue? Maybe yt-dlp is an alternative?

delocoyo's picture

Now is install, but not possible to watch videos? Nodejs is installed.

delocoyo's picture

No version for xperia x in 4.3?

aviarus's picture

Btw thanks for this great app

aviarus's picture

It happened to me too that autobrightness was turned off after using it.

nowave7's picture

Why is the app constantly overwriting mimeinfo.cache, and registering itself with http and https links? I don't want my twitter links opened by microtube...

aviarus's picture

Thanks for the explanation. Now one mystery is solved for me, but videos aren't launching at all, unfortunately :/
