Looks like some wotk is going on here. videos on the initial page after the app is opened load now. Yippy. Search results don't give back any results but i can tell something is in the works. excited. When trying to load subscription list, its empty because i deleted my cache files and data associated with the app. You know what woulf be nice and a game changer here on Jolla would be the option for this app to recognize my /json/db/opml/csv files of my backed up YT subscription list from the saved file feom my android storage download folder or any folder file.

Its actually unavailable to download. i uninstalled this app since it wasnt working to my standards again with that no connection " error once again. I knew what that means again so i removed the app. Its been enjoyable but since it stop working for more then a week, i knew it was somehow broken again. updates and broken services happen every other season with this repo app so i will check back on it and hopefully its useable in the second half of 2022. Thanka for all the work on thia app

Good news i'm completely remaking microtube, without minitube backend, so that i have way more control over what happens and such issue shouldn't happen anymore

NGC_Ollie's picture

Hi, thanks a lot for this tool, I use it on a daily basis. Since a few weeks the download is pretty slow and watching videos almost impossible. Is this maybe of youtube-dl, there seems to be a bug, or a similar issue? Maybe yt-dlp is an alternative?

delocoyo's picture

Now is install, but not possible to watch videos? Nodejs is installed.

delocoyo's picture

No version for xperia x in 4.3?

aviarus's picture

Btw thanks for this great app

aviarus's picture

It happened to me too that autobrightness was turned off after using it.

nowave7's picture

Why is the app constantly overwriting mimeinfo.cache, and registering itself with http and https links? I don't want my twitter links opened by microtube...

aviarus's picture

Thanks for the explanation. Now one mystery is solved for me, but videos aren't launching at all, unfortunately :/

enrish's picture

The app leaves automatic brightness off after using it, is it just my device?

Mister_Magister's picture

it restores it to whatever was set when you launched the app

enrish's picture

Oh, then it must be just my device... Before I start Microtube, settings/display/adjust brightness automatically is ticked and when I close the app, it is off...

nowave7's picture

Seems that lates updated darkens the image in landscape mode?

Mister_Magister's picture

It doesn't. In landscape mode it enables gestures so controls both volume and brightness and turns off automatic brightness for that reason. It has been doing that for literal years now

nowave7's picture

That's an interesting design choice. Thanks for the info.

aviarus's picture

Oh and I'm on aarch64 4.3.0.12

Mister_Magister's picture

Pull up on the video while vertical. you just turned on audio only mode

aviarus's picture

First of all thanks for this very great application. Unfortunately after a few videos watched it only played sound and now it doesn't play videos at all. I even tried removing temporary data with mashka and reinstalling.

Branja's picture

Thx for the info, for your help, and for this awesome app.

Mister_Magister's picture

thanks for using it, glad u enjoy

Branja's picture

I'm sorry if I'm causing any of that hair ripping along with Lineage OS. I did those steps and it's working. Thank you very much! What was causing the issue (if it irritates you to explain it right now, you don't have to)?

Mister_Magister's picture

I removed npm install command from microtube, i should probably add it back

Branja's picture

Whoah, that was a fast response . No unfortunately, they don't.

Mister_Magister's picture

I'm ripping hair ouf of my head fighting with lineageos at 4am so ye fast response

hmmm, try (in terminal) going to .local/share/microtube/microtube/js, and run "npm install"

Branja's picture

How can I use this app? I'm running SFOS 4.3 on Xperia XA2 Ultra. I've installed node.js as well as your app. It loads everything and I can search for the videos, but when it comes to playing them, it's stuck in an infinite loop (like this - https://imgur.com/a/mPNEm2N). On data and wi-fi.

What should I do?

Mister_Magister's picture

have you made sure to have latest version? try restarting the app if that doesn't help, close app, remove ".local/share/microtube/microtube/js" and then restart the app (two times just to make sure)

Branja's picture

The latest version from the openrepos (version 2.1.5). I've deleted the folder you mentioned. Started the app, then killed it. Started it again through terminal, tried to play the video, and this is the output that I've got - https://i.imgur.com/uaa5x3e.png

Mister_Magister's picture

videos still don't play?

Sanpo's picture

...but it doesn't start :/
