You no longer need tdlib package to run this app. It's safe to remove.

If you want calls to be working you need to install voicecall plugin. Remember to reboot phone afterwards! Yottagram should pull it along but it's not required.

If you want to have yottagram in share menu you need to install transferengine plugin.

A telegram client that's superfast and super smooth. We want to make it as close to official app as possible. Forget the days of using telegram desktop or laggy crashy apps. Welcome to the future.

Noone gives a damn about jolla store.

slava's picture

For me, the same apps are getting roughly 3 times more downloads from Jolla Store than OpenRepos (active installs in Jolla Store vs number of downloads for the last version in OpenRepos).

Mister_Magister's picture

Tru that man, but you can either spend time on making castrated version or adding new features so…

slava's picture

I actually expected a bigger difference. But yeah, I feel your pain))

Mister_Magister's picture

Other than daemon i also plan on adding sharing menu and stuff…

slava's picture

For sharing, you may find this useful:

https://github.com/monich/harbour-lib/blob/master/src/HarbourTransferMet...

It's a bit more complicated than you need, though, because it supports previous version of the interface too.

For sharing i have my morsender ;)

yusssufff's picture

ok ;D

Well its nice to new/conservative users...

But i get your point...

enrish's picture

Just start typing (or paste) a lot of text into a chat, to the point where the first line disappears. Type even more. Now if you want to go back to the first line and edit it, you would put your thumb on the text and scroll it down, but it won't scroll. Instead it will activate the pulley menu 'open a secret chat' and 'clear history'. I guess when you are inside the text editor field the pulley should not activate itself.

Also, if the send button is activated, when you write such a long message it will be pushed up as you type until it disappears.

I looked at how Depecher solved this and it reserves a little scrollable area for text input in the screen and a send button that would always stays in the low right corner.

As for the font size in the chat list, yeah, I understand it can be messy, it should also affect icons... Not really essential...

Thanks for taking care of all of the comments here...

What you are doing is great, thanks a lot! Coming from Depecher I love how you can bring up the attachment upload interface.
Now I also met the problem that @lxmx met (super old messages showing just above the new one in a chat).
Another issue I had was when I pasted a long text (20 lines or more) into a chat: I could not scroll up, to read it again or change it, I could only press the send button.
Last: it'd be cool if reducing font size affected also the chat list, so to see more of them without scrolling.
Well, all this is already very good and promising, going to send a little 'thanks'.

Could you provide bit more detail?

yeah font size change only affects message size… i'll try to affect every text size but that will be so messy…

Yeah, a cooperation and fusion of both Yottagram and Fernschreiber would be great, so all the best functions would be brought together :) Thanks!

Mister_Magister's picture

prably not possible

lxmx's picture

Double tap to reply is a badass feature and should be made mandatory in all other apps lol.

Mister_Magister's picture

Lol it was just random thought when thinking how to remove items from context menu. less buttons and more gestures is what sfos is about after all

lxmx's picture

I observed a weird issue a couple of times: some really old contact chats have pieces of history cut out. Once I opened a chat with one unread messages from an old buddy and saw the last message - and some super old messages from 2017 right on top of it, instead of more recent history

Mister_Magister's picture

ehhhh i know

Apple iOS users can't play my voice notes created with Yottagram. No issues with voice notes for Telegram users under Android.

When saving a picture in Yottagram it ends up in the users home directory and not in the Pictures folder in the home directory. It can't be found by the Gallery app.

Thank you for creating a Telegram app for SailfishOS. Well done.

Mister_Magister's picture

Thats werid, both issues. I'll look into secondo ne, can't do anything im afraid about first one

stickedlabel's picture

Thank you a lot!
Will you check also the scheduled messages? ;-)

Mister_Magister's picture

sure! in comming release!

Great work Michał. Fonts size change works perfectly. Thanks for your effort.

Hei!

Speaking of UX ( yeah, i'm aware it isnt a priority yet, just throwing thoughts:)), in TelegramX and in Depecher, there is this nice UX tweak that allows all messages in a chat to be "centered", did you ever noticed/ used that feature in Depecher? I think it could fit nicely as an option, considering the design identity of Yottagram...

It makes the whole chat look much more readable...

Here is what i mean: https://www.qwant.com/?q=telegram%20X&t=images&o=0:ac6a5f71e222db53626a3...

Mister_Magister's picture

full width huh, could do as option but later cause currently we have problems with current layout

lxmx's picture

The image previews are big and useful! I wish the video previews weren't pixelated.

Wow, just noticed the secret chats. Very cool.

Mister_Magister's picture

ye will fix that later

lxmx's picture

Woah, Le Grand update!! I've noticed a couple of small bugs:
- Unpinning the pinned message in a chat doesn't remove its placeholder top bar immediately. It only gets removed when leaving and re-entering the chat
- When I have 100s of unread messages in a chat, Yotti now jumps to the first unread message - this is great. But then if I want to make it to the very bottom of the list I have to press the "down arrow" scrollbar a few times to paginate through the unreads and settle on the last message

Thought i have fixed it! dang it

That down arrow on fast scroll should take you all the way down… maybe something is not right

Thank you. Waw, 1.3.1 - big update. Super.

Mister_Magister's picture
