Attention!

Application have no support for SFOS 4 and later.

For SFOS 3.3 compatibility you must install at least 9.2 version
For SFOS 3.4 compatibility you must install at least 9.3 version

Great application allows you to do:

  • share media from sailfish applications to android ones
  • share media from android applications to sailfish ones
  • use android browser as default one
  • open chooser dialog when you select a link to choose browser to use
  • hide and show navigation bar
  • open android Downloads application
  • use android applications with one hand

Android 4.1 and 4.4 features:

  • change android keyboard
  • disable android touch sounds

Android 8.1 features:

  • open android Settings app
  • open android Gallery app
  • open android Contacts app
  • open android Camera app
  • Open Statusbar drawer
  • Open volume control window (be quick to switch to any android window)

Application installs sdcard mount scripts for XA2. It's required to restart android support (aliendalvik), or reboot device once after installing 9.0.9 version, or any newer if you installing this application for the first time.

Application automatically modifying android desktop files to make it accept parameters.
You can use latest version of Mimer (https://openrepos.net/content/llelectronics/mimer) to assign default web browser directly to selected android apps.

But it's better to assign default browser to "Android selector" action and use handy popup dialog

Package installs sharing plugin and replaces old Android ShareUI plugin.

I do have a nasty bug to report.
I'm using Verla (4.2.0.21) on XA2 and always when I try to use the Share to Android option in f.ex. Gallery or Notes, I do get a "could not load sharing app" error. Any suggestions on how to get the sharings options back?

This is because SailfishOS' "Share API" was altered (and finalised) in 4.2.0, see https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/sailfish-share-api-and-sailfish-webview/8494 (and for some example code https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/sailfish-share-api-documentation/8413/6 ).

Hence you have to adapt AlienDalvik Control to the new API, because Coderus does not maintain it any longer: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/contribution-required-my-orphaned-project...

Hi,
I don't know how but I had two installations simutaneosly: 9.3.0-1 and 9.3.1-1. When using rpm -e --noscript aliendalvik-control it gives an error/note that aliendalvik-control is pointing to two installations (or something similar). Anyway, I can uninstall the formet but not the latter when pointing rpm to the exact package. The 9.3.0-1 gives several warnings about "x-maemo-urischeme" MIME-types and then
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.m2i0mV: line 32: syntax error: unexpected "fi"
error: %preun(aliendalvik-control-9.3.0-1.armv7hl) script failes, returned 2.
Any ideas how to get it removed? I think this installation is causing my aliendalvik from running (aliendalvik.service seems to run but can't start apps)

I can't change the phone ringtone anymore after launching Settings. The popup with the options does not open at all.

Launch Contacts and Volume Control on the main screen aldo don't seem to do anything at all

 

using version 9.3.1 on SFOS 3.4.0.24

Hi

I mean the android settings which are launched by clicking the "Settings" button on Aliendalvik Control.

After launching it, click on "Sound" and on the next panel try to change the "Phone Ringtone". The popup with the choices is not rendered.

 

Also the Contacts button on Aliendalvik Control does nothing

I did it once and the paste function normalized, but now the problem has returned and I was unable to return the paste option.
I was really in doubt if it's AD Control, because it never happened to me

Ad control is causing problems after my update to 3.4 . Reinstallation does not solve these issues - even by using the suggested terminal command. My issues are: 1. Cant stop AD via settings. 2. Phone does not shut down properly. Red led and "wait" thats all i got.

I guess I made a mistake: Storeman installed v3.4 instead of v3.3 (I'm running SailfishX Rokua). Then I tried to uninstall it to replace it with 3.3 but no way: now I cannnot uninstall or reinstall, even with Zypper after pkcon refresh/update.

Got stung by a left-over old copy of 9.3.0-1 that crashed my Sailfish 3.4.0.24 update midway through. (And left ssu in a broken state, but that's a different story).
Needed to do exactly that to complete the update.

Primary reason is hoping to get group SMS/MMS usable on Sailfish. I have used Signal on Android and it handles group SMS/ MMS correctly. Lots of people in USA prefer group SMS and Sailfish messenger doesn't know how to keep the group thread and it splits messages to individual's threads. I have been nagging at together.jolla for years for group SMS, but no luck. Thank you.
