Malakay's picture

Hi, same problem. Yesterday it warked flawlessly, today keeps crashing even after deletin cache :(

Mister_Magister's picture

Hmm can you run it from terminal and give me output?

Malakay's picture

Here you have it.
https://gofile.io/?c=xMD0k4
By the way, did you find my repaired translation?

Mister_Magister's picture

Unfortunately you didn't  show the end of log on the screenshots, where the carsh happens :/

Mister_Magister's picture

yes, yes i did

Malakay's picture

So, great :) Im looking forward to see my translation in app :) By the way, I tried today to play videos, app once crashed and after restart it worked again. But its weird, sometimes app crashes with no reason.

trial's picture

After update to 1.8.1 I'm experiencing constant crashes after I try to play any video. Xperia X 3.2.0.12. Tried to reinstall but the issue continues.
Am I the only one?

Mister_Magister's picture

Yep probably you are the only one. It's working fine for me. Try running it from terminal and see what happens?

trial's picture

I managed to get it running, after I deleted it's cache with Mashka. :)
10x.

MIG's picture

Sorry for bothering you again, but it would be fantastic to be able to read full description of the videos.

This shortened description preview at the moment is good and compact (don't take it away), but many times it's not enough to have it only. If this short preview could be expanded to full view it would be great. Not mentioning clickable links (if any) in the description.

Mister_Magister's picture

yeah it's already in issues list

daywalker's picture

Thanks. If searching for related videos is activated in settings, videos wont't play anymore by tapping them. Just related videos are listed below.

Mister_Magister's picture

Oh fuuuuuuuuuuu… erm thank, i will investigate

Malakay's picture

Hi Mister_Magister,
I have prepared Czech translation for microtube, please obtain it in the app. Thank you very much.

Download it here:
https://gofile.io/?c=vb0lov

Mister_Magister's picture

You can do it through github but anyway thanks! I will add it along with Dutch translation!

Malakay's picture

I wanted to, but I can´t upload to your github :D Thank you very much for understanding :)

Mister_Magister's picture

but if you fork repo and upload to your repo you can make pull request. that's how it works :)

Malakay's picture

I didn´t ever do this, I dont know how. Here is repaired ts file, I found some mistakes in the uploaded one, mistakes were done by QT Linguist. I found it today when I was translating Fileman. So here you got fixed file:

https://gofile.io/?c=28gHJM

MIG's picture

No, it doesn't switch to automatic brightness.. I figured out how it works:
1. Set "global" brightness to high value from settings/swiping from top center
2. Start microtube
3. Set "global" brightness to lowest value from settings/swiping from top center
4. Visiting microtube changes the global brightness to the value set in 1 and doesn't change to value set in 3

The microtube shouldn't save the initial "global" brightness value and use it later.

Mister_Magister's picture

Ye it should i mean in landscape you have gestures to control brightess and i want to restore old brightness for you! Or you mean if you change brightness from settings not from gesture it should update saved value?

MIG's picture

Sorry for being unable to express myself better. I try to explain what I'm experiencing. This is a long writing and landscape mode app cover issue is presented also in the end of the post. Please, take your time to try out the steps I have presented. I'm pretty sure you'll understand. I also think that fixing the brightness issue won't take as much time as it took for me to write all this down.

My use  case is following:

I like to listen to some youtube channels while driving my car, I'm not watching the videos. I'm using Pitot and Pure Maps while driving. My XA2 phone has orientation patch so I the app covers rotate to landscape mode. In app cover view I can see my speed from Pitot's cover and from Pure Maps cover I see how far is the next turm, how far is the destination and how long it will take to drive there.

Usually, I start driving to home while the sun is up, so the display brightness is relatively high. When I'm back at home the sun have set already and it's dark. Thus, I must adjust the brightness on the way so that it's comfortable. As I have my phone in landscape orientation and I have started microtube while the display brightness was high, every time I go back to microtube to change the video, the brightness is set back to bright value. Even though I change the display brightness to dimmer value later.

I have bolded the text where it goes wrong (in my opinion). You can try it yourself:

(0. Close microtube if it's running)

  1. Set brightness to high value (no matter if your phone is in landscape or portrait orientation)
  2. Open the microtube
  3. Open some video in microtube
  4. Turn your phone to landscape mode to view full screen
  5. Change the brightness to dimmer while still in landscape orientation (it doesn't matter if you do it by gesture or "manually" from phone's settings)
  6. Rotate your phone to portrait orientation (the brightness is set automatically back to brighter value by microtube)
  7. Change the brightness to dimmer while still in portrait orientation
  8. Turn the phone back to landscape orientation (the brightness is set to dimmer value automatically by microtube)
  9. Turn phone back to portrait orientation (now the display gets brighter even though you have set the brightness dimmer in portrait orientation in step 7!)
  10. Set the brightness back to dimmer value while still in portrait orientation
  11. Swipe from right to switch to cover view (now the display gets brighter even though you have set the brightness dimmer in portrait orientation in step 10!)
  12. Change the display brightness in cover view back to dimmer
  13. Go back to microtube while in portrait orientation (OK, the brightness statys dim)
  14. Swipe from right to see the cover view (now the display gets brighter even though you have set the brightness dimmer in step 12!)
  15. Now every time you open the microtube by tapping the app cover and then come back to cover view by swiping from right, the display brightness is as bright as you set in step 1. You can try to change the brightness in or out microtube, in landscape or portrait orientation, it doesn't help. Every single time you come from microtube back to app cover view the brightness is changed to the bright value by microtube.

Another issue is the video scaling for cover view in landscape orientation. The cover shows the video only partially (top left corner). The cover view is fine in portrait orientation.

Mister_Magister's picture

So yeah exactly what i said you want Microtube to update brightness changed by you and that's easily doable!

About cover… i'm kinda forcing it to be portrait mode so if you un-force that theeeen it's screwed. If you link me the patch for landscape covers i will do something about it

MIG's picture

Cool!

This cover video thingie.. I have found two issues:

  1. For cover, the video is shown only at first video and if you switch next from the cover. When you change to another video inside microtube app (not in cover), only title text is shown on the cover and no video at all.
  2. Another thing is in landscape mode. The video isn't always scaled correctly, sometimes only top left corner is cropped instead of scaling the whole video. After trials, I disabled "Default allowed orientations patch" it seems to fix "the cropping instead of scaling" problem, but doesn't fix the issue 1.
Mister_Magister's picture

I was fixing the first bug already geez. Ye i wanted cover to be always portrait so that patch really breaks it :/

MIG's picture

Well, I can live without that patch. So no need to fix the issue 2 for me. Thanks!
