Installer for the native OpenRepos.net client for Sailfish OS

Starting from version 0.2.9 Storeman is buit with the help of Sailfish OS OBS and Storeman Installer is used for its installation. To update Storeman prior to 2.9, one need to remove the existing RPM and use the installer or use an appropriate repository for manual update. Further updates will be done automatically. All old RPMs from this repository were archived here.

  • Every SFOS release requires a configured OBS repository. Therefore Storeman installation may not be available for some time after a new SFOS release until maintainers configure a new repository. This is especially true for EA releases
  • If you have any troubles with installing, removing or updating packages after the system upgrade try to run "devel-su pkcon refresh" in the terminal app
  • Storeman can still be unstable! Application name does not affiliated to any other software

Installation instructions:

  • Enable "System → Security → Untrusted software → Allow untrusted software" in the device settings
  • Visit this page using the device’s browser, and tap the harbour-storeman-installer-$version.jolla_.noarch.rpm link further down the page or download the RPM with your computer and transfer it to the device somehow
  • Tap the downloaded or transfered RPM in the device's "File downloaded" notification or in the file browser and confirm the installation
  • Optionally disable back the "Allow untrusted software"
  • Find the "Storeman Installer" icon in the device's app grid, tap it and wait for Storeman installation finishes - the "Storeman Installer" icon should be replaced by Storeman itself
  • The installer itself is removed automatically

Current features:

  • List recently updated applications
  • List installed applications
  • List, add/remove, enable/disable repositories
  • Show applications info similar to the official Jolla store client
  • Install/remove applications
  • All lists are scrollable, data is loaded in the background
  • Search for applications
  • Authorize to OpenRepos.net using Sailfish Secrets for secure storing of credentials
  • Comment, reply to comments, edit and delete own comments for apps
  • Use button panel to add HTML tags when typing comments (hint: select text and then click a button to wrap it with a tag)
  • Tap on the "Reply to" label on the comments list to navigate to the original comment
  • List categories and apps by categories
  • Hide any categories of applications
  • Show categories on the applications page - tap a category label to show all related applications
  • Initial support for apps bookmarks (offline only)
  • Initial support for backups (offline only)
  • Rate applications
  • Find and manage local RPM files

Did you try to run `pkcon get-updates`?

Pohli's picture

Just tried: [nemo@Sailfish ~]$ pkcon get-updates
Getting updates
Refreshing software list
There are no updates available at this time.

olf's picture

... which is correct, as there is nothing to update to from OpenRepos with OSM Scout Server 1.14.2 installed on SailfishOS < 3.0.2.

Please do research and read first, before asking (and thereby stealing others' time).

Hi Osetr!

i cant manage to dowload an app from within storeman... storeman says : an error occured, file './drpms/droid-hal-version... was not not found on medium https://store.repository.jolla.com/releases/

All SailfishOS releases for ARM comprise only ARMv7 binaries to date.
Hence SailfishOS on ARMv8 CPUs also uses solely ARMv7 application binaries.

Hey @osetr,
I am unable to log into my Openrepos account using my email because I am unable to write/paste dots/periods.

Just use your login name.

glanternier's picture

Hello, now that there is an "adult content " section, would it be possible to create a filter that could be activated / deactivated in the settings?

glanternier's picture

Great !

hi! i did install storeman. then i decided to erase it (mostly cause its a recomanded thing to do before a sailfish update...). But now that the app is erased, i can still find traces of it in the file browser (Such as ssu_openepos-oestr_release... or other files seemingly connected to the zypp file). the file browser refuses to allow me to erase these files even if the app is already erased, writing 'permission denied'.without being a developper and opening the terminal, how could i simply clean my phone from those left over files?thanks a lot.

osetr's picture

You don't need to delete Storeman before upgrade. Just disable the openrepos repositories. To clean your phone you need to delete all the third-party repositories.

olf's picture

Original post.
Some answers:

  • There is no need to disable OpenRepos' repositories before upgrading SailfishOS since SailfishOS 1.0.4.
  • There is also need to be worried about the "leftovers". Some are intentional (e.g. configuration data, so you do not have to reconfigure it, when deciding to reinstall it), some are "natural" (e.g. a repository entry is not deleted unless you command so, either in Storeman or per SSU). As some thousand Storeman users obviously experienced no issues with that (including me), it is extremely unlikely that you might.
  • There may be "leftovers" after uninstalling, which are oversights. If you think you found one, please name it explicitly with a description how exactly you installed and uninstalled the software. With this information you may open an issue at GitHub (see web-links in Storeman's description above).

Thank you for good answers!

yusssufff's picture

Thanks for the explainations....

What would you suggest me do to about those type of leftovers as found by the File Browser:

"openrepos-osetr" in /home/.pk-zypp-dist-upgrade-cache/packages

"openrepos-osetr" in /home/.pk-zypp-dist-upgrade-cache/raw

"openrepos-osetr" in /home/.pk-zypp-dist-upgrade-cache/solv

"openrepos-osetr" in /var/cache/zypp/solv

olf's picture

These are just cached files by zypper / libzypp.

But funny enough it only doesn't occur when I comment on this very app, other ones have the same effect every time, app crashes but saves the comment

DameCENO's picture

Hi and thanks for our only openrepos manager on Sailfish.
Just wanted to report that the bug of crashing the app after every comment still persists

2byOrNot2Be's picture

Error occured.

File './noarch/droid-system-packager-0.1.9-1.2.1.jolla.noarch.rpm'not found on medium 'https://store-repository.jolla.com/releases/'

Yes, it's a JP-1301. What's to to?

sathelstan's picture

Hi Osetr, I am unable to download the package on my Xperia XA2 plus. Please advise.

Only 0.3 mb of the file downloads.

Mister_Magister's picture

olf's picture

See issue #83.
Please contribute to it, if you have further insights.

ferlanero's picture

Hi, osetr! Can you add please an option to Storeman to share openrepos url as already requested on github? https://github.com/mentaljam/harbour-storeman/issues/91

Malakay's picture

So, did any problems occur? :)

Malakay's picture

Okay :)
