ah, solved. If you start deepecher via app icon I always have to go to settings and tap logout to start the reg process. Then always network is not ready. simple start from command line jumps directly to the reg process and network is online.

problem then is that you have to start deepecher always via commandline. the instance started from launcher is constantly not connecting and stays blank. no messages etc...

Comment out the following line to start it from launcher:

comment out this line in desktop file fixes it:

Thx. Fixed

BlackSailer's picture

Interesting... So before that you have a page with Depecher header on it? And nothing happens?

carepack's picture

no, it starts with a blank page and only the pulley menu is present. Then went to settings and tap logout button. After that tap the registration page appears. Like I said, starting via commandline enters the registration page immediately.

carepack's picture

Good to hear that I'm not alone. Tried all the suggested steps but none of them solved the issue

BlackSailer's picture

Well by default it must be 0, but it doesn't really matters, because you didn't configure proxy.

For connection establishment tdlib is responsible for. Please try to connect via Mobile network, or try diffrent wifi's. If you have configured vpn, try to disable it for connection, or try diffrent vpn.

Thanks for the app ! And yes a stable conn is top prio. Sailorgram is not maintained, misses in my case often messages and needs restarts to be uptodate. Sharing.of fotos is super quick in your app. Better then browsing into my sd card

elderorb's picture

Please add the way to disable notifications. And keep up doing great work!

ferlanero's picture

Absolute thumbs up!!! Thanks again!!

Finally a new telegram client! Thanks so much!

t0t3u's picture

I really appreciate your dedication!
Keep up the good work guys!

I wonder, how some people are ticking. We had no good working Telegram client for a decade. Sailorgram not working good on newer SailfishOS Versions and only the old API is used.

Now a guy make an working telegram client in his spare time for free, but now he is flooded with issues and feature requests and some give such comments like "ugly".

I don't understand this world...

Bocephus's picture

I've been using Sailorgram constantly since 2014, on the Jolla 1, AquaFish, C, and now X. Still version 0.80, just lately with a slight tweak by ade. It still works 100%, and as long as it does I don't care if the API is old. It's great that this alternative is being developed, and I will install it eventually when it surpasses Sailorgram in functionality. But for now I'm sticking with what works. As little sense as it makes for people to complain about the GUI of Depecher, as little sense does it make for you to complain about another fully functional (well, except calls) client just because the API happens to be old.

explit's picture

@pdfles: Forget about Saolorgram. This is not state of the art and will never be. Fuck the beatifull UI, when the moder telegram features don't work

pdelfes's picture

Dev look at the SailorGram fork, manteined by the Sailbook dev, that is a good Telegram client, well designed, professional-like work, your app looks miserable, desperatelly ugly, try to improve it.

BlackSailer's picture

I understand that there is a lot of complaints about UI, everyone has own vision about it. But frist there must be a consistent connection to Telegram network. I'll add more time to UI after adding daemon. Please, be patient.

To be UI more comfortable for your use in recent future, please create an issue on GitHub with your suggestions, or pull request with qml file redisigning.

minitreintje's picture

Please be gentle, we devs are still doing this in our free time. Depecher is working fine, the UI is coming alone bit-by-bit.

Sailorgram is in beta, Depecher in alpha.

247's picture

Luckily, even in alpha, is a great piece of software ;)

Caballlero's picture

Depecher are using new telegram api; Sailorgram is using  obsolete api. I know Sailorgram is beautiful on GUI , but Depecher could be better easily and sooner.

tekktonic's picture

Any plans to support sending stickers? As far as I know no other clients do this on Sailfish. I need to keep the android version running for stickers because of it.

Bocephus's picture

Stickers have always worked with Sailorgram (use ade's version, not Dax' original). Of course, I find stickers completely ridiculous and worthless, and certainly think call functionality should be a higher priority.

BlackSailer's picture

Noted, I add it as soon as posible.

ferlanero's picture

What´s new here? Thanks for this great work!

BlackSailer's picture

Added build for i486. No new features, thats why there was no version increase.

Bocephus's picture

Is a changelog available somewhere?

Fatal error: nothing provides needed by depecher-0.1-2.armv7hl Bummer!

Could you guys please build this thing without additional dependencies which can't be pulled in from Jolla repos? Just compile the extra stuff in.

Universebenzene's picture

This file is owned by tdlibjson, which has already existed in BlackSailer's repository. Did you install depecher by Storeman or just download the rpm file to install locally?

Serega_xDD's picture

Very Good.Thanks)

Universebenzene's picture

Well the notifications of this client behave like SMS, which seem to be noisy... Could you change them into individual type of notifications? Or could you provide an option to disable the notifications?
Anyway, a good client on SFOS. Thanks for your working
