Finally a new telegram client! Thanks so much!

t0t3u's picture

I really appreciate your dedication!
Keep up the good work guys!

I wonder, how some people are ticking. We had no good working Telegram client for a decade. Sailorgram not working good on newer SailfishOS Versions and only the old API is used.

Now a guy make an working telegram client in his spare time for free, but now he is flooded with issues and feature requests and some give such comments like "ugly".

I don't understand this world...

explit's picture

@pdfles: Forget about Saolorgram. This is not state of the art and will never be. Fuck the beatifull UI, when the moder telegram features don't work

pdelfes's picture

Dev look at the SailorGram fork, manteined by the Sailbook dev, that is a good Telegram client, well designed, professional-like work, your app looks miserable, desperatelly ugly, try to improve it.

BlackSailer's picture

I understand that there is a lot of complaints about UI, everyone has own vision about it. But frist there must be a consistent connection to Telegram network. I'll add more time to UI after adding daemon. Please, be patient.

To be UI more comfortable for your use in recent future, please create an issue on GitHub with your suggestions, or pull request with qml file redisigning.

minitreintje's picture

Please be gentle, we devs are still doing this in our free time. Depecher is working fine, the UI is coming alone bit-by-bit.

Sailorgram is in beta, Depecher in alpha.

247's picture

Luckily, even in alpha, is a great piece of software ;)

Caballlero's picture

Depecher are using new telegram api; Sailorgram is using  obsolete api. I know Sailorgram is beautiful on GUI , but Depecher could be better easily and sooner.

tekktonic's picture

Any plans to support sending stickers? As far as I know no other clients do this on Sailfish. I need to keep the android version running for stickers because of it.

BlackSailer's picture

Noted, I add it as soon as posible.

ferlanero's picture

What´s new here? Thanks for this great work!

BlackSailer's picture

Added build for i486. No new features, thats why there was no version increase.

Fatal error: nothing provides libtdjson.so.1 needed by depecher-0.1-2.armv7hl Bummer!

Could you guys please build this thing without additional dependencies which can't be pulled in from Jolla repos? Just compile the extra stuff in.

Universebenzene's picture

This file is owned by tdlibjson, which has already existed in BlackSailer's repository. Did you install depecher by Storeman or just download the rpm file to install locally?

Serega_xDD's picture

Very Good.Thanks)

Universebenzene's picture

Well the notifications of this client behave like SMS, which seem to be noisy... Could you change them into individual type of notifications? Or could you provide an option to disable the notifications?
Anyway, a good client on SFOS. Thanks for your working

BlackSailer's picture

Of course, I set up notifications to behave like SMS. I'll create a custom type for notifications in next release and handle notification sound.

lkdhf's picture

I think it would make more sense to make this use the IM notification sound (it's an IM application after all and generates way more notifications than SMS), then everyone can just change their IM tone to whatever they want.

BlackSailer's picture

In version 0.2 Utilized IM notifications

sdiconov's picture

It also crashes on Jolla C running OS 2.1.4.14. It failed at the "sending request" stage right after getting sms code. Now crashes at start.

explit's picture

For me it works just fine on Xperia X

X Compact - Depecher crashing at start

BlackSailer's picture

Tdlib supports calls and secret chats, imho calls is useful but should be implemented at last, after main functionality works.

Sailfishman's picture

Runs perfect on Xperia X and Oneplus One!

explit's picture

Just works. Thank you!

carmenfdezb's picture
