Here is a more up-to-date app: https://openrepos.net/content/osetr/recorder-fork

This is just a simple recorder to record sounds from the microphone.

Recordings can be started and stopped from the cover. The recordings will be stored in a folder that can be changed in the settings in a wav format. Recordings stored in that folder can be played from the app and can be removed.

The recording is very low leveled. What micro is in use? Shouldn't there be a option to select whether the hands-free or the handest-mode microphone will be used? Any chance to integrate a input level ruler? Or better, a switchable compressor/limitter?

Thanks for sharing your work with us!

When attempting a recording with harbour-recorder Version 0.2.5, there is no file saved. When stopping a recording, the file list flashes onscreen for a fraction of a second, then no file is saved.  I've tried every codec, and the Recordings  folder has read/write perms for all.  This message shows up from journalctl: [W] QPluginServiceProvider::requestService:437 - defaultServicerovider::requestService(): no service found for - "org.qt-project.qt.audiosource"

So either the app fails to acquire the microphone and thus is recording 0 bytes worth of audio, or it is failing silently when it tries to saves a recording file.

I'm on Sailfish 1.1.9.28 on LG Nexus5, 3.4.0-cyanogenmod-g9b77194

Something is not working right. Recorded f.e. 20 seconds but only hear 13 and it stops at 20 when I replay it. Also there is a noise always at second 7 like a scratch.

Could you tell me what codec you are using?

MrCool's picture

I used Speex

No problems with Vorbis, PCM and FLAC

Sorry for the late reply, was finishing school.

I have tried a few recordings, but I can't really hear scratches. Are you using the Jolla TOH? and do you have at least version (the app) 0.2.4?

Is the source of the application available some where? I mean is this Open Source application?. Btw thanks a lot for this I liked application much but speex format is really a speex contained in Matroska container which requires some work for extracting to play on PC.

The source is available here: https://github.com/cornedor/sailfish-recorder.

The speex container is fixed, but i've forgotten to update the app over here. It should be fixed now.
