Be prepared for the apocalypse with Doomsday.

Doomsday is an app for getting severe weather alerts and other important information from public authorities. It makes use of the KDE FOSS Public Alerts Server, which collects information from numerous public feeds and sends push notifications for subscribed areas. It also supports running in the background as long as the app is open, if you don't want to use push notifications but still desire near-realtime alerts about impending doom. You can add up to 10 locations anywhere in the world, and also subscribe to alerts at your current location.

Push Notifications require the use of a UnifiedPush distributor, such as Foghorn, because the KDE FOSS Warnings Server uses UnifiedPush to send alerts.

Note: 32-bit version is untested, on account of not having a 32-bit device to test with.

Features

  • Doom Meter: A convenient summary of just how apocalyptic your current situation is.
  • Multiple Locations: Watch up to 10 locations anywhere in the world, plus get alerts for your current location.
  • Not Just Weather: The apocalypse comes in many shapes and sizes! Any public alert received from local authorities will be displayed, not just severe weather alerts.

Disclaimer

Doomsday is not a replacement for official information channels. Do not rely on it as your only source of guidance in an emergency. Follow instructions from local authorities.
