Installer for the native OpenRepos.net client for Sailfish OS

Starting from version 0.2.9 Storeman is buit with the help of Sailfish OS OBS and Storeman Installer is used for its installation. To update Storeman prior to 2.9, one need to remove the existing RPM and use the installer or use an appropriate repository for manual update. Further updates will be done automatically. All old RPMs from this repository were archived here.

  • Every SFOS release requires a configured OBS repository. Therefore Storeman installation may not be available for some time after a new SFOS release until maintainers configure a new repository. This is especially true for EA releases
  • If you have any troubles with installing, removing or updating packages after the system upgrade try to run "devel-su pkcon refresh" in the terminal app
  • Storeman can still be unstable! Application name does not affiliated to any other software

Installation instructions:

  • Enable "System → Security → Untrusted software → Allow untrusted software" in the device settings
  • Visit this page using the device’s browser, and tap the harbour-storeman-installer-$version.jolla_.noarch.rpm link further down the page or download the RPM with your computer and transfer it to the device somehow
  • Tap the downloaded or transfered RPM in the device's "File downloaded" notification or in the file browser and confirm the installation
  • Optionally disable back the "Allow untrusted software"
  • Find the "Storeman Installer" icon in the device's app grid, tap it and wait for Storeman installation finishes - the "Storeman Installer" icon should be replaced by Storeman itself
  • The installer itself is removed automatically

Current features:

  • List recently updated applications
  • List installed applications
  • List, add/remove, enable/disable repositories
  • Show applications info similar to the official Jolla store client
  • Install/remove applications
  • All lists are scrollable, data is loaded in the background
  • Search for applications
  • Authorize to OpenRepos.net using Sailfish Secrets for secure storing of credentials
  • Comment, reply to comments, edit and delete own comments for apps
  • Use button panel to add HTML tags when typing comments (hint: select text and then click a button to wrap it with a tag)
  • Tap on the "Reply to" label on the comments list to navigate to the original comment
  • List categories and apps by categories
  • Hide any categories of applications
  • Show categories on the applications page - tap a category label to show all related applications
  • Initial support for apps bookmarks (offline only)
  • Initial support for backups (offline only)
  • Rate applications
  • Find and manage local RPM files

What is this "couldn't find xdg-open" when trying to install the installer?

olf's picture

Please file a bug report (preferrably using the bug template) at https://github.com/storeman-developers/harbour-storeman-installer/issues

Without knowing the SailfishOS version, on which device and which Storeman Installer version was used, it is impossible to address this.

Xperia X. Uninstalled Storeman before OS update from to Then succesfully installed  Installer 1.2.2-1, which didn't work (tried several times, also after devel-su pkcon refresh and restart: no result after spinning circle).  Installed Chum-gui and from it successfully installed Storeman 0.3.0, which works well, except can not login to Openrepos account via it.

If you still cannot log in to your OpenRepos account with Storeman, please file a bug report (preferrably using the bug template) at https://github.com/storeman-developers/harbour-storeman/issues

For the Storeman Installer issue you experienced: RTFM, e.g., the "ATTENTION!" section above or the comment thread below etc.

Please, read the "Attention" section at this page or the "Important notes" at GitHub. As for now, you can manually download Storeman from the releases page at GitHub.

For installing Storeman on SailfishOS or 4.4.0.x (and any other release ≥ 3.1.0, too), please download the current Storeman Installer release and read the instructions above thoroughly, before proceeding.

Hello, I tried the Storeman installer 1.2.6 under SFOS 4.4, Xperia 10, but it's not working. The installer stops doing its thing after a few seconds, but is never replaced by the actual app.

nowave7's picture

Any chance we get an installer for the new SFOS version?

Oh, okay, that's sad, but I understand. Thanks for all the good and hard work!

elkiaer's picture

Not possible to make any comment using the app on my XA2.

Deleted the Storeman, installed the updated Storeman Installer and now it works.
So, it seems that an update should be done like this.

Markkyboy's picture

'No network' error on Jolla1. Working lovely on Xperia 10ii though.

osetr's picture

Sorry, I no longer have a J1 phone. But tge code is open for PRs

Markkyboy's picture

No worries, thought it may have been something simple. I tried a few of the archived RPM's but still Storeman complains there is no network.
I have also moved onto Xperia 10ii, but sometimes I pick up Jolla1 as it is easier to use size wise.
Thanks for replying anyway :)

Frankly, i tried it like 3 or 4 times on fresh sfos install and it never worked correctly. Either i had to run it from terminal or just use it to add repo and then install package via zypper myself

osetr's picture

Which SFOS version on which device do you use?

miroj56's picture

Storeman works fine on my Xperia 10 II, SFOS The only issue I have is inability to log in through app (I can't send likes and comments). Used username/pasword used to access this forum. Any idea?

osetr's picture

Did you try your email?

miroj56's picture

Yes, I entered my email and password, the same as I enter to this site.

What can I do to resolve the issue?

Mick's picture

Have I missed out on something ?

I'm still running the latest SFOS3 (hoping to get a SFOS4 device soon)

Storeman has stopped workibg completely for me (constantly returns "Network Error")

I've tried to install Storeman Installer but not had any luck with that at all.

Any suggestions ? Thanks.

Not sure about the reason, but you may try to install an appropriate RPM directly from OBS repositories https://build.merproject.org/package/show/home:mentaljam/harbour-storema...

I'm being hit by the same issue on an old Jolla Phone. When launching via shell, this is the error message printed:

[W] unknown:0 - Network request error QNetworkReply::NetworkError(SslHandshakeFailedError) - "SSL handshake failed"

I wonder if it's maybe related to the Letsencrypt certificate, which also bites other Jolla apps like the Mail client and the browser..

kro's picture

I can now confirm that this was indeed the issue - it seems to work again after following the steps provided here: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/storeman-and-side-loading-problems-also-r...

Storeman is wonderful and mostly runs very fine. But every 4-5 days it forgets the password, despite it is set to 'remember password'. (SFOS @ Xperia 10)
Can I do something to repair this?
