Presage based text predictor

This package is a text prediction input handler plugin which is based on the open source presage library.

If you are an end user please take a look for your language between my arrowboard-[LANG]-presage packages and install those packages (it is just a dependency package of them).

It could be useful on ported devices or when using non-official keyboard layouts. (The Jolla's Xt9 text predictor is a properitary and license solution from Nuance).

To utilize this predictor you will need the following packages:

- libpresage1 (installed as dependency)

- presage-data (installed as dependency)

- A keyboard layouts file which uses the presage predictor:
  - Swedish keyboard layout

  - Hungarian keyboard layout

- If you want to have text prediction from the beginning you will need a word database for your language.

It says nothing provides libpresage.so.1 while installing. What to do?

I would like to use Presage based text predictor with my own Lithuanian keyboard layout. I've made custom Lithuanian keyboard layout from the official Jolla's English keyboard layout file. Have been using this layout succesfully both on Jolla C and Xperia X. Now I have installed Presage using Warehouse. Then I changed the Lithuanian keyboard .conf file (added line at the end handler=PresageInputHandler.qml), restarted the device (actually by now already several times). I do not see any signs of Presage activity. Is this due to the word database not yet built up, or is this due to Presage doesn't initialize with described configuration? If this is the latter case, I would like to ask if keyboard layout .qml file must be specific, or the Presage is configured to act only with the layout files you mention (Hungarian, Swedish and English, all with arrows)? This applies to Xperia X.

Thank you

Hey,

Sorry for the late reply, I have missed your comment.

No modifications needs to be done in the keyboard QML files other than changing the predictor in the conf file (as you did).

I think you were not getting predictions due to the lack of starting ngram database.

I am going to obsolete this package because with riginus and ljo we have created a group and reorganized some stuff thanks to their knowledge.

You can find the newer faster brighter version of this predictor here:

A sample english keyboard is here:

Let us know if you need any help preferably on Github in the form of an issue because we will get notification about it :

Thank you for the answer. I'll try the newer version in a couple of months, when I'll find time.

So if I understand it right:
1) enable your repo
2) install english package

Is the keyboard then directlt ready or is extra configuration needed?

Engish keyoard was packaged by ellefj:  https://openrepos.net/content/ellefj/english-keyboard-presage-based-pred...

You need to enable my (martonmiklos) and tmi's repository.

After you have installed the keyboard layout you need to either restart the device or just restart the lipstick from the other tools -> restart home screen.

Really handy, thanks man, this will surely benefit those on ported phones.
