Could you disable Sailjail? Cannot save anything to a file.

Tinyedit does not allow open, save, or save as from menu, the file/folder picker doesnt launch using SFOS 2.1.0.11 on Aquafish. Open simply remains blank on screen in Tinyedit.

works as expected under 2.1.1.26 on Jolla1. I'm surprised it is still working (for me) in its current form, since the app was launched 3 years ago and we have seen a fair few changes to the OS in that time.

Thanks, a very useful app.
A feature request: I'd like an option to access the menu by means other than push up/pull down. For example to save half way through editing a long file without losing my current position.

You can save from the cover. As for the other menu functions, such as opening a new file, it seemed to me it would be easy enough to just close and restart the app...

Great app!
Really nice with the bottom pulley menu! (1.2)
A suggestion for next version: "Save as" should suggest the original file name, I often want to save as with just small differences from the original name.

Perhaps. In the meantime, just tap once on the original file name in the "Save as" file selector. The name will then be copied into the input field, which at least saves you some typing.

Thanks! Very nice and simple editor. One question, can you add remind option, for example if I edited file, but not saved it yet and want to open another one or quit from app it will ask me to save or not?

If the user swipes down to close the app, is the app even allowed to ask questions before closing? Do you know of any Sailfish app that are examples of this?

Thanks ovekaaven!
p.s. would be even greater with link to sourcecode. Could be a great showcase for others who like to write apps and need texteditor-like functionality :)

OK, I've added a link to the current source code. The editor itself is just the standard TextArea, just took a few lines. The file selector was a much bigger job, most of the code is for that.

Thank you, Ovekaaven,
I spotted this app from a comment you left on Jolla.Together.
Seems to work without a hitch, although there is a white horizontal streak that sits almost right across the screen near the top, this shows when you very first open the app and persists while using/saving with TinyEdit..
Good job, thanks again! :)

p.s. I'm reasonably adept with Photoshop and can make launcher icons.

Are you talking about what I think of as the end-of-file marker? (The TextArea widget draws it under the text, like in any other text entry field in SailfishOS, and I don't yet know how to remove it. So I decided that OK, it shows where the file ends, probably a nice feature anyway...)
Thanks, if you want to make an icon, that would be appreciated.

I figured out how to remove it. I could upload a new release as soon as I have an icon to add.

With my glasses on, I can see now that it is meant to be there, part of the design of that component. I think my ambience theme also made it look worse than it was. Now I know what it is, it looks fine, but perhaps isn't really needed after all.
I know very little about the construction of apps, but I'm learning, slowly! :)

Hi,
I came up with this icon for launching your app.
Also, if you don't like it, make some suggestions and I will do my best to interpret your ideas.

Eh, it's OK, not like I would have done better. I've now uploaded a new version with your icon and a couple of fixes. Thanks!
