Intelligent whois client by Marco d'Itri
Author's description:
In 1999 I wrote this Whois client from scratch because the alternatives were obsolete or bloated.
This client is intelligent and can automatically select the appropriate whois server for most queries.
The internal database is often more accurate than IANA's published one, but please send me any information you have regarding domains and network resources which are not correctly handled by the program.
Because of historical reasons this package also contains the mkpasswd program, which can be used to encrypt a password with crypt(3).

I compiled it directly on my tablet.
How do you compile apps for Sailfish?
You should also be able to compile using the VM in the SDK.
I'll upload my package this doing this week :)

Sometimes I use the SDK (if it's an actual "app"), but when it's a utility I often compile directly on the phone - I use a Fairphone 2 for daily use now so the original Jolla Phone is a nice test device!
Thanks for uploading, I don't have an x86 sailfish device but the more people who know how to compile and share useful utilities to openrepos the better for all of us!

Yeah, even on the official Jolla I made the decision not to use AlienDalvik so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. If Jolla as a company goes under, the community doesn't stand much chance of maintaining AD, but the rest of SFOS should continue to work just fine. Not a fan of relying on proprietary software for that reason! If sfdroid gets released for FP2 I'll be all over it though :)

Before, I think. The Jolla partnership is mainly about bringing the commercial parts of SFOS to Fairphone, and I'm not really bothered about AD or exchange support.
My original jolla started playing up and I looked at the libhybris support tabke on the mer wiki and decided based on that, thinking FP2 would be quite an attractive development target because the HW is supposed to be repaired so people might hang on to it for longer.
