Felis Bluetooth Battery is an experimental application.
The application can only display battery information that is actually exposed by the Jolla Bluetooth stack (BlueZ / oFono). It does not estimate battery levels and does not use device-specific proprietary protocols.
Testing so far has mainly been done with Bluetooth audio devices.
Current limitations:
If you try Felis BT Battery Audio with other Bluetooth devices, feedback is very welcome. Please report what device you tested and what battery information the application shows.
Felis Bluetooth Battery is a native Sailfish OS application for displaying battery information reported by connected Bluetooth devices.
It uses the standard Sailfish Bluetooth stack and reads battery information exposed through BlueZ.
The included oFono plugin integrates Bluetooth headset battery reports with BlueZ, allowing the application to display battery information using the standard org.bluez.Battery1 interface.
Installation or upgrade restarts oFono and Bluetooth so that the plugin is loaded and Bluetooth devices can perform a fresh connection and battery handshake.
Existing Bluetooth connections will therefore be temporarily disconnected during installation.
Tested mainly with Bluetooth audio devices including headphones and speakers.
Battery reporting depends entirely on what the device and the Sailfish Bluetooth stack provide.
This project is still experimental.
If you test a device that works, does not work, exposes multiple batteries, or behaves differently, please share the result. Reports from other Sailfish users are especially useful because Bluetooth battery reporting varies considerably between devices.
