Sailwave is a native interface for browsing and listening to radio station streams from the community database radio-browser.info

Existing users: same app, new package name (harbour-sailwave-radio) – see the note below.

New in v1.1: landscape mode with a player panel and large buttons; optional favorite tiles; lock screen, headset and car controls with previous/next favorite now work on every device; refined icon and various small improvements

Note for existing users: Sailwave has a new package name, harbour-sailwave-radio – the old name harbour-sailwave was already taken in the Jolla Store. Installed with Storeman from the old page, Sailwave updates to this package by itself. Installed manually: install this package, then remove the old Sailwave. Favorites, histories and settings are kept in both cases.

Features:

  • Discover: top stations matched to your listening style, station history and a quick search
  • Advanced search: filters for genres, languages, countries, audio quality and sorting
  • Favorites: save stations as favorites, arrange favorites as groups. Easily switch between stations in landscape mode
  • Track history: what was playing, with album covers, album and genre (optional, via iTunes API)
  • Station info: details, votes (on radio-browser.info), similar stations
  • Player: player bar on every page, sleep timer with fade-out, app cover and lock screen controls (with Next/Prev station switching, customizable to loop within the active favourite group)
  • Landscape mode: in landscape the player moves into a panel on the right with large buttons; optional favorite tiles – large station logos to tap, always or only in landscape
  • Backup and sync: automatic backup on the device, backups and playlists (M3U) with date and time, sharing via the share menu, optional sync with a WebDAV server (tested with Nextcloud) – the password is kept in Sailfish's secure storage Secrets
  • Privacy: no account, no tracking, no ads

Changelog:

V1.1
- New package name harbour-sailwave-radio – favorites and settings are kept; installed from OpenRepos, the old Sailwave updates to it by itself
- Landscape mode: player panel on the right with large previous/play/next buttons.
- Favorite tiles: large favorite tiles as an extra page left of the start page
– always or only in landscape, optionally opened when turning the phone (for example in the car).
- Lock screen, headset and car controls: the package now installs the system module Amber.Mpris, which was missing on some devices, as a dependency.
- Next and previous also work while playback is paused, and only appear when there is another favorite to switch to.
- Setting renamed to "Stay within favorite group"; its value is now kept after a restart.

V1.0.1
- New Feature: Added Next and Previous control buttons on the lock screen and cover page.
- New Setting: Added option to restrict Next and Previous media actions to the current favourite group instead of cycling through all favourites.
