New Study Bible app for Sailfish OS. The philosophy of this app is Sola Scriptura. The Bible text is front and center. It is what you see when you open the app and it is where you get back to when in the app. There are going to be many additional features and I want it to work as a native Bible study tool for Sailfish OS.
Features at the moment:
-Download and read Bible modules
-Change chapter by swiping left or right
-Download and read commentaries (long press on verse to read verse comment)
-See footnotes by tapping verse
-Verse of the day in app cover
-Bookmarks (long tap on verse)
-Bible maps (some language modules lack the maps/images - Swedish and English maps work)
-Word search in Bible
-Dictionary
Coming features:
-Study notes
-Split screen in landscape mode (Bible-Bible)
-etc.
What would you like to see? Please, comment and let me know!
Placed on GitHub: https://github.com/martinbook85/harbour-captains-bible
- Added working Strong's concordance integration with tap-to-open links
- Implemented global multi-dictionary search and automatic module selection
- Fixed QML delegate scoping and property resolution bugs
- Verse commentary implemented by long press

I am really happy to see that so many people have downloaded this app! It sure is an app I have missed having on Sailfish OS and I am happy other people are finding it useful.
Since OpenRepos is in read only mode I cannot upload the newest version here, yet (0.4-1) but the RPM can be found through the GitHub link.

Another thought for the Cover. Could this have an option to display your bookmarks and allow you to cycle through them?

Excellent App Martin - thank you! The verse numbers are now alligned and the pagination is good. There's a bewildering selection of downloadable texts to choose from but with all the key ones in there. (NIV2011 and ESV) so some more ways to Favourite / Filter versions and to filter by language would be good. The ability to increase font size would also help. (Sorry if I've missed that).
In particular if you could filter on "Anglicised" texts ("American English" - Ugh is not the heading where you expect to find English-English versions).
Within the Bible text, the access to footnotes /notes is excellent (The NIV Anglicised version) with these really helpful in understanding context and interpretation.
If the cover could either show a "Text of the Day" or the current verse you are reading with forward and back buttons that would be nice.
Really looking forward to see how this develops but this is already my go to Bible App.

Thanks for the nice comment! There is a new version on GitHub that also has copy and study notes feature. There is also now the option to keep screen awake.
The language heading comes from the library I am using but I will see what I can do. The search feature is there for extra filtering. Type English, hit enter and there you go. But I realize that changes when you search for a specific module. I will take your suggestion for a language filter into account and also see if I can change 'American English' to only show 'English'.
Regarding the cover suggestions, that is really helpful. I love how I have the verse of the day but if the user could customize that, I agree that could be really helpful. I'll look into that.

I am just here to congratulate on the nice icon!
No matter if you designed it by hand or prompted for it. Looks great, shows taste and imo nicely fits the sfos design language.

Thanks! Yeah, I prompted for it. I do like it but have also thought it is too detailed and not easy to see in the app drawer.
