A native YouTube client for Sailfish OS. Silica/QML UI, a Python backend over PyOtherSide, stream resolution through a user-managed yt-dlp binary, and a custom C++ GStreamer player (software and hardware decode) for real DASH playback the things QtMultimedia can't do on its own.

32-bit builds are experimental and untested on a real device.

Thank you for providing an armv7hl package! I've tested it with some success, which already makes it the most usable native YouTube client for my phone.

What works: searching, subscribing, comments, downloading audio/video, playing downloaded files, hardware acceleration for video playing.

What doesn't work: playing without downloading (error is “Stream doesn't contain enough data”).

Somehow, regular playing started working on my device after repeated failures. Even live streams work now. I'm amazed... 5-star app!

Thanks for testing on your device!
Yes, it will be a bit hit and miss without deno providing a PO Token so sometimes you can slip through as it automatically retries for an entry that isnt blocked

Can you please make it to always default to using the original audio or simply add an 'Original audio' setting rather than having to choose specific language? Since the current version it enforces specific language. If I choose 'Polish (original)' in a Polish video so that I can hear its genuine audio, if I then view an English video it gets automatically translated to Polish as the 'Polish' setting is preserved from the previous video. I have to manually change it to 'English (original)' to hear its genuine English audio, but again, if I then switch to a Polish video then it gets automatically translatet to English, and so on. This enforces constant switching back and forth between languages, which was not the case in previous versions which always defaulted to original audio. Now it is very troublesome.

I understand, it due to me not using any other language than english so i personally dont have a usecase for the feature, should be fixed next release.

Like this app. But search and load the video goes too slow.

Given that deno is optional, can you build a 32bit packet too? Thanks!

Installed it, imported my Newpipe Archive and it just worked. Thank you!

After a lot of trial and error plus googling managed to get it working on JP26. Tested playing a few different videos and they seemed to work. Good job!
