Just noticed that the application is almost unreadable on light themes, maybe some text should be fixed?

Jakub's picture

Noted. I never used anything but the default theme.

sourcrowd's picture

The new harbour-submusic 0.13.1-1 doesn't remember the password when I check "Remember me"

Jakub's picture

I just pushed a update to 0.13.1-2. Secrets were using invalid characters after app rename. Thanks for reporting <3 . Not sure if open repos correctly mark 0.13.1-2 as a update from 0.13.1-1 ( version that you used ), but if yes, this is just a simple update, otherwise, please do reinstall the app. Reinstalling will still leave your config files on the deivce so you won't lose anything.

Jakub's picture

Well. it looks like secrets are not recreating. Must be something incorrect with how they are created.
You should be able to fix it by using older package version ( 0.13.0 ). Not many changes were made to 0.13.1. I'll update the description

Jakub's picture

Did you use terminal to migrate configs from older to newer ? If yes, open this app at least once from the apps launcher. It then should remember the password after that. I do not know how sfos provides those passwords, but I used to have similar issues on my testing device. For whatever reason passwords would work without any issues after reboot. I'll test it again.

projectmoon's picture

Did the rpm package name change or something?

Jakub's picture

Hi. Yes. I wanted to move my app to harbour so I had to rename it. Info about it is included at the bottom of description alongside info on how to migrate from old config to new one.

Sorry for inconvience, but pushing new package here was easier than maintaining 2 versions. One for open repos and one for harbour

maffo999's picture

I found this app and it looks really promising, it works fine wih my Navidrome server. I would love to have a feature to download whole albums without having to listen to every song in them.

Jakub's picture

Thanks. You can download songs one by one by holding one. Downloading full albums is not yet done. I'll note this down for later.

If i switch to search2 instead of doing nothing I get a "no response from server" error

Jakub's picture

```
no response from server
```
This sounds like a issue with your server, rather than my application.

You can try to install older version of this application here: https://git.kiszczyc.pl/jakub/SubMusic/releases ( or from openrepos if you are using its web version ) if you simply need this working. If you feel like helping me debug it, It would be great to receive your application logs. You can get logs from the app simply by running it in terminal:
```
submusic --debug > ~/Downloads/music.log
```
This will push all application logs to "music.log" file in Downloads folder. Once the app is started, please do:
- Log into your server
- Search for songs
- Go to settings and switch from /search2 to /search3 ( or vice versa, depending on what search is selected )
- Try to search for songs again
- Close the application

You can then share that file. Please be aware, that these logs do include hashed password to your server!. This is only included in lines starting with "Sending req" as far as I remember. Please do remove EVERYTHING after "v=1.16.1" in those lines. If you do not care about it. Feel free to share full log.
Open repos allow to contact other people. You can send it here, or contact me via discord / telegram ( links in application description )

amol's picture

Since the last updates it stopped showing any song at all form me. Not sure what might be the cause. I use Ultrasonic app on Android and that one still works fine with my server

Jakub's picture

Hi. Try to switch to /search2 in settings panel. Older versions of this app used older endpoint ( /search2 ). I moved to /search3 by default in 0.12.
If possible, please do report if it fixes your issue. Navidrome ( my server ) supports both, thus I did not test switching much.

Edit: I pushed your issue to my roadmap ( last element ). I'll try to create some kind of fallback to older api, whenever new one does not work. https://git.kiszczyc.pl/jakub/SubMusic/issues/11

hello, i switched to a j2 and the app finally works

now, some considerations i have

1 how do i submit a translation?

2 i tried the app with my bandcamp account and it works, but on the artist grid it cannot show covers, maybe you should make it a list (as an option) so space is not wasted?

3 the app always starts on records, but i do prefer artists, maybe let the app remember last view used?

4 make the app remember last used server, so we save the extra step of selecting the server?

5 move the albums/artists/etc buttons on a pulley item, so home screen is not cluttered

6 make the entire record playing when pressing on play instead of a single song, and playing a single song could be an item on a long press

other than that, i'm actually delighted to finally have bandcamp on a native app, waited years for this :)

Jakub's picture

Hi again. About point 1. I recently started weblate server and I'll publish it on the forum tread in few minutes. Feel free to use it. Not all lines are available for translation. I am slowly moving with stuff.

Jakub's picture

Good to hear that works.
1. I am quite new with sfos applicactions. I'll try to learrn how to create translation system in some free time. Doubt that this will happen soon.
2. Bandcamp support has been talked about on the forum. https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/submusic-the-app/29337 . I do not use playlist, albums etc. Just songs. Artists do load for me and I can query their songs, but I never did anything outside that. Missing covers on might be a issue with bandcamp, since I do see them on navidrome.  I'll note your idea about removing images.
3. "Simple ui" or "Advanced ui" should be remembered. Switching between data types in "advanced ui" is not. I can add a way to "remember" last section
4. Noted
5. I had no idea where to put it and I mentioned that on the forum https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/submusic-the-app/29337/42. I was thinking about putting it on the home top bar, but gave up since that menu was somewhat untested. Noted
6. Are you talking about albums / artsts etc ? When you enter those, top bar menu has "play all". For me, this is easier to use. If you really feel like this should be changed, I can push it later ( or try to push a setting for it ? )

247's picture

Hello, wanted to install the app but it doesn't install on my xa2 asking for a 64 bit file, any suggestion?

Jakub's picture

Hi. I did upload version for aarch64, armv7hl and i486. I compiled 0.8.1 ( latest one ) for sailfish os 5.1.0.11. As far as I remember, 5.1 had some changes related to gcc ( compilator ). If you are using older sailfish os, it might not work. You can try to manually install rpm file from my releases https://git.kiszczyc.pl/jakub/SubMusic/releases/tag/0.8.1 .

If you are using pre 5.1 sailfish os version and not planning / cannot update, I can compile for older version. 0.8 was compiled for older sailfish os and it should work without issues.

247's picture

I'm on 5.1.0.11, so that shouldn't matter
Problem is the app tries to pull an aarch64 dependency i guess
I tried your file anyway and it doesn't install too

What i'm trying to do anyway, is run bandcamp on it, so maybe you already know if it works or not on it

Jakub's picture

I've compiled latest version for 5.0.0.62 ( 8.2+ ). Could you please check if you can install this app, or if its still showing errors while installing ?

Jakub's picture

I doubt that this will work, but feel free to test it. Some1 already asked about it on the forum https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/submusic-the-app/29337 and I am planning on touching this subject, but this might not happend soon. Since I never used bandcamp, I have no way to test fully it.

Are you getting any errors while trying to install this app ? `...Pull an aarch64 dependency...` I am quite new in sfos apps development and don't quite understand what it would need to pull. On fairphone 5 and sony 10 2 it works without any issues.

amol's picture

It is able to connect to my subsonic server and fetch list of starred songs, but then clicking play button does nothing.

I am able to play the song from android app so the server works

Jakub's picture

Hi. Thanks for reporting. Due to lack of time, I had to give up on this app for the time being. I am not sure if I'll be able to fix it anytime soon.
If you don't mind using older version, you can try to download older version https://git.kiszczyc.pl/jakub/SubMusic/releases, eg. 0.7 or 0.6. I use only starred songs and nothing else, so this feature should work.

Could you please write your architecture here ? Might be useful for future fixes. I only have aarch64 devices.

amol's picture

I'll try, Im on an Xperia 10 III.
It might be that it just doesn't follow redirects? My subsonic server replies with a redirect to a url hosted on S3 for songs

Jakub's picture

I never thought about that, but if application itself is working, this might be limitation of media player itself ? I would need to check logs. I'll note that down and try to take a look in some free time. Sorry for inconvenience.

Manisak's picture

Extrem Simple. But works (navidrome) thanks.
