i created a whatsapp app based on whatsmeow, which is written in go. unfortunately it is only possible to register as second device, like the browser. it only has minimal saljail permissions out of the box, internet and secrets for storing the registration. one can add contacts permssions or meda files permissions through a command that can be copied to clipboard and edits the desktop file to add or remove these optional permissions. for listening to voice messages you can put the phone to your ear, and sound comes through the earpiece and the display is turned off, if you remove the phone from your ear both are turned back, like in original whatsapp. i used claude "ai" to develop this app. sources are here: https://github.com/smatkovi/harbour-whatsapp i updated whatsmeow and fixed the errors you reported. thanks for all your comments and error reports.

- Channels show their names. The names were being fetched all along -
GetSubscribedNewsletters returns them - but they went straight to the
channel page and were never kept, so the chat list showed the bare
newsletter id: an eighteen digit string nobody recognises a channel by.
They are stored with the other names now and refreshed shortly after
connecting, rather than only when someone happens to open the channel
page. Noticed while checking whether the status LID work had broken
anything for channels; it had not, they had simply never had names

Yes a sound is active in settings. Also the status LED do not show a unread chat. For the real WhatsApp it works both. I saw in your qml only a TextSwitch with a variable "notif_sound". I will install it on my old xperia 10 to test it.

Hello, I search the reason why at my phone xperia 10 iii with SFOS 5.0.0.76 the setting notification sound not work with harbour-whatsapp. Could anybody test it. The vibration works and also the visualisation in eventscreen. Thx

Is it possible that one click on a member of a group opens a new chat. Now hold and click opens a menu for calling and two orher actions. It would be nice if this menu contained the option for a chat or one click opened a chat.

Okay i hope this is fixed with version 0.9.196 or at least you can fix it yourself with it. It could be that you granted media access from the first time it was available and some time after that i added also permission to removable media to this command, so it could be that you miss this part, but the app didn't tell you properly

Hello Aviarus, first, thanks for this huge advance for Sailfish ecosystem , finally to have native Whatsapp is amazing . Just I wanted to ask if it possible to run the app automatically at boot time, and keep it as a service when you close the window , I think this in fundamental for replace the original Whatsapp for daily use. Thanks a lot for this amazing work.

Perfect it works now for pictures and the chat not scroll after media player running. But for videos and audio not.

Unfortunately the chat sliding after view a picture is not solved in the last update. If I open a picture and go back from viewer I landed in the middl at the chat. Maybe I need a reboot from the phone or disconnecting from whats app. I will test both later. But your update was very fast again - Thanks a lot

Hello, I use it now every day. The scrolling to the last post it's still a proplem. If you open a audio, picture, video etc. you came back in only in the middle from the chat. Maybe its not so much effort to change it? BR

When clicking a notification, the chat opens nicely. Then clicking the white dot "back" upper left does not bring you back to Chats, but to the tab left of it, Favorites. The command is executed on the wrong level in the page stack, I guess.
