Okay, I could also observe the bug described by @Termitebug, +1 for @Malakay's idea...

Runs fine on Xperia 10 III under 4.5.0.24 with no workarounds.
Is there any way to increase alpha to 256 for an even dimmer screen?

Dunno if my updated Vanha Rauma release is utterly broken. But there is still partially an app launching problem. Open 0.20 Nightish, enable overlay, close app, try launch, infinite cover circle, crash. You need to restart lipstick/home screen for remedying the issue. I agree with @Malakay

App stopped launching when updated to Sailfish OS 4.4.0.58, needs:
[X-Sailjail]
Sandboxing=Disabled
in /usr/share/applications/harbour-nightish.desktop to work again.

Could launcher be customised to make app hidden from switcher? This could be a solution for accidentally killing the gui.and some shortcut to kill it.

If the GUI is closed without stopping the process first (disabling the tint), GUI can't be started again (busy indicator is spinning in the cover and then it times out and closes). So the only way to stop it (get back normal colors) is to reboot the phone or kill the process from the terminal.
