mimic
mimic is Mycroft's TTS engine, based on CMU's Flite (Festival Lite).
Mimic is a fast, lightweight Text-to-speech enginedeveloped by Mycroft A.I. and VocaliD, based on Carnegie Mellon University Flite (Festival-Lite) software. Mimic takes in text and reads it out loud to create a high quality voice.
This version can only generate WAV file, there is no direct output to sound device.

I have installed and it is working ,,, only in English with Poor Maps. German is not working (Test in Poor Maps).

Right now there is no text-to-speech support for aarch64 available ... not in the Jolla Store not in Openrepository.

Is an aarch64 build in the future? I'd really appreciate that, since the 64-bit Sea Witch has stolen PureMaps' voice . . .

I keep getting an error, "nothing provides libicuuc.so.63 needed by mimic 1.2.0.3-1.9.1.jolla.armv7hl" when I try to install mimic.
I'm running Sailfish 3.4.0.22 on an Xperia XA.

ICU was updated in 3.4.x and that has hit multiple applications, including mimic. When OBS target will appear, I can recompile it for 3.4.x and upload. Just would have to remember it

I wonder if in cases like this on SFOS we shouldn't package the file as binary in /home/nemo/.local and only a symlink in /usr/bin? This is 90mb drop onto a very limited system partition

Maybe. For now, you could move mimic binary to your home and make symlink.

Yeah, I did, pure maps still working just fine and 25% more free space where it counts the most (it's weird jolla didn't think of something like that, I believe n900 had mandated /opt/ + symlink policy, or at least it seemed like most apps were setup like that), just in this one case, this thing's huge, thanks!
