OSM Scout Server is a native offline maps provider. This server can be used as a drop-in replacement for online map services providing map tiles, search, and routing. As a result, together with the map client, a full offline solution is available for map search and navigation (car, bicycle, and walking).
The server can be used to provide:
To use the server, you have to start it and configure the client to access it. Poor Maps and modRana have support for the server already with no additional configuration needed.
NB! Updates are currently posted at Chum repositories only.
Specific update instructions:
1.15.0 Valhalla database format has been updated. Please update maps after installation.
1.14.3 I suggest to uninstall old version of the server, check if anything stayed in /usr/share/harbour-osmscout-server and if that folder is there and/or not empty, remove it using devel-su. After that, install a new version (1.14.3 and up).
NB! When Mapbox GL schema is changed (as for 1.4.0), please remove Mapbox GL application caches.
NB! When a new backend is added, such as with the release of 0.9.0 and 0.10.0, please ensure that you have subscription information updated. For that, in Map Manager, click on "Check for updates", decline updates, and unsubscribe/subscribe each territory that you have subscribed. After that, proceed with the downloads. This is not needed if you don't want to use the added backend(s).

You can use Chum to get the latest version. See text in BOLD regarding it in the description of the package at OpenRepos. Assuming that OBS would be kept afloat, I am preferring to distribute via Chum.

Thanks you, this seems to work now. It's a little bit hard to find out what is Chum and how to use it. It may stop users from using it.

Please consider removing apps that you no longer upload to openrepos. At least it will prevent some confusion and questions.

Please specify which connection do you talk about. From map client to OSM Scout Server or OSM Scout Server to maps distribution server? Please describe steps to reproduce your issue

It is SailJail related. Disabling SailJail in /usr/share/applications/harbour-osmscout-server-gui.desktop helps.

Hello,
Prior to updating to Sailfish 4.1 (build 4.1.0.23), I had to remove OSM Scout server. Well... Then after the upgrade, I am trying to install OSM Scout server back but keep getting this error message:
Fatal error: nothing provides libicui18n.so.66 needed by harbour-osmscout-server-2.0.0-1.137.1.jolla.armv7hl

Hello.
I am a little confused. I am using sailfish os 3.0.24
Is it possible to use osm server? After the update it was removed and i am not able to install anymore.
If possible , could you explain for dummies like me?
By the way. I really like the app, thats why i am desperately trying to get it back on my device :)

As it has been explained by me several times already here, at Pure Maps page, and probably at TMO, maybe someone else can step in and explain the issue with OBS and 3.4.0? feels like constantly repeating myself ...

Hello rinigus.
I saw a lot of comments with different stements. Some say its not working. Others have workarounds etc.
I checked your description of the app first, for a statement.
If there was a message" for sailfish user with V => 3.4 to wait for an Update" , it would have been very clear to me. Might make sense to add that?
Please apologize if i was annoying you. I really appreachiate your work!

That's a good idea, I should add it. Don't worry about annoying - it is a situation that is annoying, not you. We just have to wait when the new target at OBS will be available. It sounds like there are some technical issues with it.

I noticed, that you enabled the new 3.4 target for the arm build. DO you plan on updating the tablet build too?

i486 build has been just updated. I was waiting when OBS :latest will point to 3.4.0 for i486 - as it is usually. Today the switch happened and the attached build was compiled.
