I can't see Chinese translation. Can you fix tjis?

fooxl's picture

Should be fixed now.

fooxl's picture

Ok, i will check. Whats your locale?

edit: i c zh is missing.

Wonderful, thank you! Great app!

Awesome app that I do find really useful! :) However, I've noticed a few small things...
- It isn't possible to add "completion date". Some of the extensions for the todo.sh make use of the completion date.
- It sometimes creates duplicates on the notification screen.
- If I'm choosing to not hide completed tasks they also show up on the notification screen.

fooxl's picture

Thanks for your feeback. :)

> - It isn't possible to add "completion date". Some of the extensions for the todo.sh make use of the completion date.

- sure, completion date should be added, when a task is completed. I thought had this already working before...

> - It sometimes creates duplicates on the notification screen.

- Yes, currently I don't know, how to deal with this. This happens, when the app crashes.

> - If I'm choosing to not hide completed tasks they also show up on the notification screen.

- Thanks for the hint. Will fix this.

yokisuci's picture

You're welcome. :)
I'm not sure if it's possible, but i've noticed another thing. If I add something, then my phones syncs the latest todo.txt from my computer, then I have to change tab and change back to "reload" the todo.txt on the phone so I can see my changes. Maybe it would be possible to have a setting where you can change if the app should automatically reload the todo.txt file and how often? Just an idea.

fooxl's picture

The reading mechanism changed a bit. Now it checks if the file has changed since last write/read before reading and parsing the file content.

This should happen every time the tasklist page is shown to you or the app or cover is activated. But maybe I also need a timer like you proposed.

yokisuci's picture

Awesome! :) Great app has gotten even better.

I don't know if a timer is needed, but maybe it will make it possible to update the info on the start screen. On the other hand, that may cause battery to drain and hard to implement. I'm not a programmer, so I don't really know about that stuff. The thing that bugged me a bit was that everytime I opened the app to check my todo.txt file I had to swype to "filters" and back to see the changes.

Do you know when the new version will get uploaded?

fooxl's picture

The app now reloads also, when the app is activated. I hope, this helps. Sorry for the long wait.

Done and solved: A filter from a previous context (that did not exist anymore in the current file todo.txt) was set. So all entries were hidden. Reset all filters once. Works fine now.
BTW, as stated above by user 'breiti_oi' on March 16, 2018, I installed ZuTun twice.
When using the App for the first tme on XA2, I recommend to enter 1-3 tasks only. Then close+restart ZuTun.
Thank you very much, fooxl, for your quick and patient support!

spheniscus's picture

Nope.
Maybe it helps: file receives new tasks and lists them naturally, in alphabetical order.
But screen remains blank in zutun.
Looks like writing to todo.txt does work, while reading (or display) does not.

fooxl's picture

But how could it show the projects and contexts then?

If you want you can send a screenshot an example of todo.txt-content to michfu@gmx.at

spheniscus's picture

Hey, great App. Does not save on 3.1.0.11. on XA2. ~/home/nemo/Documents is writable. todo.txt does exist and is rwx by nemo + group nemo as well.
Weird: No tasks shown when adding tasks, but project/context counter rises. Opening the .txt file in file browser or in notes SHOWS content. Any ideas?
EDIT: Reinstalled the app --> same behavior.

fooxl's picture

Did you activate a filter?

fooxl's picture

Ok, this sounds really weird.

I will upload a major update in the next days. Hopefully your problem will be gone then (with some new ones added ;) ).

EDIT: I also had problems with file handling after the last SFOS updates. Reinstalling the app solved these issues.

Hi fooxl,

I must be dumb, but I can find how to add a new project.

When I can on the project filter view, the only think I can't see in the pulldown menu is the possibilité to clear project filters. There is no bottom menu.

When I create a task, I can click en the + button, to add a project to the new task, but nothing to create I new project.

Do I miss something?

Vincent

fooxl's picture

Just enter a new task containing the name of the new project:

"+newproject first thing to do"

The idea of todo.txt is to have your tasks saved in a strictly formated text file. Maybe take a quick look at http://todotxt.org/ to get an idea the concept.

vbelloir's picture

ok, it just works. Thanks!

flywheel's picture

Personally - Now that Sailsync Owncloud has arrived I'm using that one to sync most things (TodoTxt, Notes, Keepass db and Pictures) to the NextCloud.

Earlier I used ShellEx and rsync to sync to my server and from there via an NFS-share to my other units.

breiti_oi's picture

The list doesn't get saved on Xperia/2.1.4.14, so all todo's are gone when closing the the app. Should it be this way or is it a bug?

fooxl's picture

No, this is not the expected behaviour. :)

I guess the problem is, that the file loaction is not writeable. My app doesn't display error messages on file handling. Sorry for this.

The default location is ~/Documents/todo.txt

Could you check if the directory exists and is writeable?

breiti_oi's picture

The folder Documents exist and is writeable for user nemo. I just created the todo.txt, now it works.

fooxl's picture

Ok, thanks for the report.

I will improve the code handling the file.

carmenfdezb's picture

Thank you fo the update!! Translations files are missing in this version, could you add them in the next version?

fooxl's picture

Thanks for the hint and of course also for the translation itself!

Strange they are missing, will fix it ASAP.

carmenfdezb's picture

Nice!! Thank you!

borghal's picture

Great app! It seems to be the only Sailfish todo app able to sync, which is important to me. There's one thing I'm missing, though, and that would be due dates and reminders. Is there a chance of you adding this? There's already an issue for this on github, I noticed. I'd be able to ditch Android OpenTasks and go native Sailfish if this was implemented ☺

gaunab's picture

How do you manage syncing of your todo.txt?

fooxl's picture

Not OP.

I'm using syncthing, but I guess you can use any filesyncing software (e.g. dropbox).
