Thanks for it :) only thing useful would be the landscape mode, but I guess it would not be easy to do.. But still, thank you, I have waited for this app since my N900 died :)

There was actually a Stellarium for Sailfish already: https://github.com/marko429/stel-sf
Complete with a download link: https://github.com/marko429/stel-sf/releases/download/0.9.1/stellarium-s... (60MB)
It works fine even though it hasn't received any updates in three years. You may want to look into the source code there to see which parts could be useful for your efforts.

I'm aware of that stellarium-sf port that works on older devices. It doesn't work on newer devices such as Xperia X. I do have the stellarium-sf source code and I'm trying to get it to work on newer devices.

Sadly, doesn't work on Xperia X (2.1.3.7). Uses 79 Mb of system memory (/usr/share/stellarium/).
Oops.It works from terminal. Sorry. Too big buttons indeed. No landscape orientation. Note: still working after I converted /usr/share/stellarium/ into a symlink to save system space (because rootfs partition is very tiny on Xperia).
