  • MiLight
  • LimitlessLED
  • AppLightAppLamp
  • LEDme
  • dekolight
  • iLight
  • EasyBulb

Main screen inspired by https://github.com/modulebaan/harbour-rgbwifi
Full API documentation can be found here: http://www.limitlessled.com/dev/

Pairing must have been completed before using this app.

Uses the python-milight library.

The settingspage offers the option to scan for an already configured wifi bridge. The bulbs themselves cannot return their current state. The second page offers various default light effects.

I can't either connect to my wifi box. I have Milight ibox2. Which has firmware version v1.0.08 (Wlan SSID *3.0). the box has STA+AP modes. I tried both modes but still I can't connect with right settings to the box. Do I have incompatible wifi box revision/version?

ade's picture

I'm afraid it is incompatible, as it is based on protocol v6.
Switching to an alternative and newer backend library could help, but it would mean quite some rewrite. But the most annoying thing is that I can't test it, as I only have the old v4 bridge.

So for now I think it's a no-go.

Hi, the app looks great, but how can I connect to an already configured WiFi control box? I tried to enter the IP of the device (given by the router), but the app says that the device cannot be detected under this IP.

ade's picture

So the devices are already paired and you are using a WiFi receiver bridge v4? That's good, because that is a precondition.
It could be that port 48899 is blocked for discovery by some firewall. If you just enter the correct IP and use the right port number, does that work?

Hi Ade

Thank ypu for the quick response. Yes the devices are already paired with the controler/bridge.

Maybe, but how do I find the correct port number? What I tried so far: I looked in the settings of the router for the IP of the bridge and entered this into the app. I did not change the port so far. But default settings of the port is 8899 - should it be 48899?

Looked it up foy you, by entering the IP of your bridge in a browser, you can go to settings. Via Other settings you can see the Port ID.

48899 is only for discovery purposes. The default port in v4 is 8899. They changed that in more recent version.

Don't know how to find the active portnumber of the top of my head.

I'm happy to see that people use my code :)

very nice app. can you add support for Hyperion?

Looks like we are talking about ambilight like led stripes here. I am afraid the products are functional and technical too distinct to easily combine, sorry.
