Nested qml compositor needed for running Xwayland in landscape mode.

Special thanks go to TheKit for help and xwayland patch

Highly experimental, don't use it if you don't know what you are doing :P

How to use:

qxcompositor --wayland-socket-name ../../display/wayland-1

then you can run patched Xwayland inside chroot:

WAYLAND_DISPLAY=../../run/display/wayland-1

Thanks. What would be the best way to make it work on the SD with minimal changes to the script? Can I create a symlink to the SD or will it break things?

If you ask about rootfs (Off-topic here) then you don't need any changes. Just put scripts in sdcard and execute.

Huge hype. Some screenshots and, more importantly, noob-friendly instructions with an actual rootfs and the hype will be far over 900.

Thanks for this, this is huge progress, and will likely be a very good companion to future Chen's phone(s)!

The rootfs can be created and used using this script (also by op).

It's just a tool to workaround lack of touch and landscape support in sailfish's xwayland not application to create rootfs. For rootfs and instruction please follow Xwayland thread at TMO.

I know, I was thinking about this thread as well, but touch and landscape support is a great advance. I hope all these combined efforts will ultimately end up in a working and easy chroot solution for users that are not very comfortable with manipulating scripts and adapting them to different rootfs.
