iNFC is a native NFC app for Sailfish OS that reads, identifies, stores and emulates NFC tags and smart cards. It talks to nfcd over D-Bus and never polls in the background: the radio stays off until you pull down and choose Read.
THE COLOUR CONTRACT
One rule runs through the UI: white is data read off the card, green is data this phone can actually send back out again via host card emulation. Green means exactly one thing - it survives the round trip through emulation. Everything the hardware cannot re-emit stays white, however interesting; on a payment-card page nothing is ever green.
FEATURES
- On-demand reading - the radio is off until you ask; nothing is scanned in the background
- A swipeable carousel of panels, one per card family, each with a plain "what works here / what does not, and why" note
- Identifies payment cards, German eID / ePassport, the electronic health card (eGK), NDEF tags, MIFARE Ultralight / NTAG, security tokens and more
- Decodes NDEF records (URI, text, vCard, Wi-Fi), reads and writes Type 2 tags, emulates a Type 4A NDEF tag (host card emulation)
- Decodes EF.CardAccess (PACE security infos) and the ATS interface bytes, with a built-in reference glossary for every raw value on screen
- A worked-example decoder for Philips Sonicare (BrushSync) brush heads
- A named, dated archive with separate comments, plus JSON export/import
- English UI with a full German translation
STATUS AND RESPONSIBLE USE
Built and tested on a Sony Xperia 10 III (Sailfish OS 5.x, aarch64). The app reads its own tags, serves NDEF over host card emulation, and never polls in the background; it does not crack or defeat anything. (A source-only "uv" variant with Proxmark 3 support exists on GitHub - dual-use security tooling, deliberately not shipped as a binary.)
ARCHITECTURES
aarch64 (Sailfish OS 5.0+). No armv7hl build.
Written with Claude Code (Anthropic).
