Syncgcontacts is an application that uses the gdata-api to fetch contacts from one (or more) GMail accounts, and save them to your N9.

Do you love your N9, but you feel it is limited in the contact management functionalities? Do you think just one account for contacts is limiting you? And, as GMail user, do you feel that contact groups are extremely practical to organize your contacts, but there's no way to map them to the N9? With syncgcontacts you can finally overcome these limitations!

Check the web page to know more about syncgcontacts and how to use it properly!

If you experience problems installing this package from openrepos, please let me know. I haven't still been able to find out what causes this issue
Please also check the changelog for release-specific information!

0.3.5 -- package bugfix (added wget as pre-depends, and postinst fixed). This still havent fixed the issue with openrepos

0.3.6 -- OAuth2 authentication, as google disabled ClientLogin. If you can't copy the authentication key from the default N9 browser (and you most likely won't be able to), please use firefox for the key generation process. This means: as soon as the N9 browser is spawned from syncgcontacts, copy the URL (without logging into google at all), and paste it into firefox. Then follow the Google process in Firefox. At the end, paste the key into syncgcontacts.

0.3.7 -- Attempt to fix the installation error from openrepos

0.3.9 -- OAuth fix: Finally logs in again. May require erasing old keys from accounts/OAuth

I got an error after trying to instal with dpkg. I have a missing dependecy, python-qtmobility. How do I get that? Searched here and could not find.

it's giving error whille installing (0.3.6), but still is installed in the end.

working nicely from terminal. it skips middle names though.

I confirm that middle names are retained. You don't see them in the contact list because of the app itself not showing them. If you drill down into a contact, you will see the middle name.
Hope it helps!

IIRC middle names should be retained. I can double check and let you know
