SailVideo

Native local and network video player for Sailfish OS. Now with Chromecast and picture slideshow support.

SailVideo is designed as a Sailfish-native video player for videos stored on the phone, removable storage, home NAS servers and HTTP/HTTPS sources.

It uses QtMultimedia and the Sailfish GStreamer playback stack and provides SMB2/SMB3 network playback through a local seekable HTTP Range bridge.

This is a major SailVideo update adding native Google Chromecast support together with a large number of NAS, playback and UI improvements.

Chromecast is now integrated directly into the normal Player and Picture Viewer pages. Pull down the media-page menu, select a remembered Chromecast or scan for one, and continue controlling the media from the same screen.

Chromecast features include:

• native receiver discovery and remembered devices
• video play/pause, seeking, restart and configurable skip
• previous/next media
• receiver volume and mute control
• Stop/Continue with position preservation
• disconnect and Leave playing on TV
• NAS picture casting with previous/next and slideshow
• mixed picture/video NAS folder navigation

• local and SMB/NAS casting through SailVideo's LAN HTTP Range bridge

QuickTime/MOV is not transcoded. Files known to be incompatible with Chromecast are now rejected cleanly instead of starting with a black picture or corrupted audio.

HTTP/HTTPS videos are currently downloaded to SailVideo's cache before playback rather than streamed progressively.
