Videoworks is an experimental new video editor for SailfishOS and part of an initiative to provide some powerful multimedia tools in line with Imageworks and Audiocut. Among its features are:

- all the basics: trim, cut, pad, resize, speed
- add overlays: video, image, label or audio
- create storylines, slideshows, thumbnails
- create subtitles or add from file
- create splitscreen videos
- add transparency "greenscreens"
- extract audio files or mix in new tracks
- record audio as overlay comment
- apply effects or color filters
- re-encode files...

IMPORTANT NOTE:

It seems that with version 4.1 of SFOS, ffmpeg and ffprobe are no longer installed. You MAY need to do:

zypper install ffmpeg-tools

In theory it's in the Requires of the rpm file so it should be installed for you.

Photos looks great. Is it working?
Possible to get it for aarch 64bit version?
I am using Xperia 10II

Latest versions should work with 4.x aarch64.

Can't get it to work on an XA2 running 4.0.1.48. App launches, can load a file but unable to run file. The run arrow is has a green circle around it but nothing happens when it is tapped. Also file size shows shows 0 MB even though the video length is correct.

I'll second that. 64 bit, please.

This is a really cool app. I tried it out on my XA2 Ultra. Shot a couple of videos with me on different sides of a room, cropped each one in half, selected the right/left split screen and pasted them together, then realized that "right" mean put the other video on the right, redid the split screen paste and bam! I'm waving at myself. :) Video mask effect! Shot and edited on Sailfish! Thanks!

Inoi R7, programm do not work. It can not open video from files or gallery.

planetos_store's picture

@Polecat2003, which Sailfish version are you using? And would you check the output of two commands in terminal and tell me their respective VERSION in an email?
- ffprobe
- ffmpeg
My guess would be that ffprobe is not installed on your system. Furthermore you could run this command and see what happens when you load a file.
- harbour-clipper

Update: Also happened to me once. Videoworks would not load a file and closed instead. Restarting the phone helped.

Very nice. Work much appreciated. However I can't see video preview of recorded videos from device, making cutting/editing quite difficult. Am I missing some codec?

planetos_store's picture

Thanks, I just finished version 0.3.1. Is it working for your files now?

Nice work thanks! I would appreciate a

x86

version if possible.

planetos_store's picture

Hi, I uploaded an x86 version. Unfortunately I could not test it yet. Would you send me an email on how it performs?

Better than nice. Excellent! Another native app that's been sorely missing. Thank you.
