Requires during rpm install - when forced, it complains about the missing lib during program startup.
Do I have to get for a current Jolla ( stable)?

Thanks a lot.

Cyanide not working anymore on Jolla Sailfish OS 2.0

I just noticed that the application does not work anymore
on Sailfish OS 2.0.

My setup is a Jolla Phone, Sailfish OS 2.0 (, fresh install),
using cyanide from via Warehouse.

The error manifests when tapping on your user name.
At that point the application freezes completely and can
only be killed. So it is not possible to use/setup the application

After a complete fresh reinstall of the phone it does work!

Thanks for the update!

Update using toxcore-16.0304 long time overdue!

norayr's picture

how to get your own tox id? or id's or your contacts to add them from other clients?

krobelus's picture

you can copy your own tox id to the clipboard

to preserve your contacts, copy your tox save file to your phone and import it

getting the tox ID can never be reliable because they might have changed their nospam

Thank you for this app. Do you have the possibility to port to  meego N9?

I have had cyanide installed before, but after one update it did not start anymore (sadly, I don't remember which, but it has been around last spring/ early summer) and I deinstalled it. Now I wanted to give it another try, but it's still the same: I successfully installed version, but when trying to open the app, it only shows the rotating circle on the app in homescreen, but it is not able to launch the app and closes the app in homescreen instead. Reboots and deinstall/install does not work. Is there a solution? Because the existence of a tox client is a great thing!

I tried to import my qtox profile that had a password in it by renaming it to tox_save.tox and giving it  the correct permissions along with ownership on

(0600 and nemo) via WinSCP. This was done on a fresh installation before any startup. It would not work. It would only work upon using 'switch profile' and then would ask me for the password. Gone upon next app start. Lost my profile as some random default one was generated.

For now I have removed my password sadly and have cyanide running just fine.

This needs some work ;-)

Thanks for the app!

Please have a look at this news if you haven't already.

Any progress on the audio/video calls? Thanks.

krobelus's picture

Thanks for the link, I was aware of the news but I didn't read that post
I'm working on audio but there is a new toxav api which is only supported by Antox atm so it is going to take at least until the other clients support it

Very good app, thank you, krobelus.

But with problems. Voice/video calls on utox (PC) don't work.

Besides, in last version (2.5) again absent translation in Russian (it's back in 2.4).

krobelus's picture

Fixed the translations now, thanks for the notice

Audio/Video calls are not implemented yet, I will try to work on that soon

When i try to launch, under the version, the application through the console i have this error :
execute_sql_query:75 - Failed to execute SQL query: No query unable to fetch row
Could you check ?

krobelus's picture

Well that's strange, I can't reproduce the error.
Did you upgrade from an older version? In that case removing the database file in ~/.config/tox/cyanide/ should help. (I haven't tested the database upgrade with all previous versions so that might be the issue)

objectifnul's picture

I'm definitely unlucky. Cyanide 0.2.0-1 doesn't start. Running SFOS

EDIT: 0.2.1-1 is ok.

objectifnul's picture

What provides "" ? Cyanide could not be installed without it.

krobelus's picture

Should be fixed in the latest release

krobelus's picture

The package is called nemo-qml-plugin-notifications-qt5

It should be installed already though as it's a dependency of a lot of preinstalled apps

objectifnul's picture

I guess I have a version number problem: I have instead of required

Dunno if both can coexist. Meanwhile I'm ok with Cyanide

krobelus's picture

I'm working on switching to a different notification library (mlite5), so this should hopefully be fixed soon

marsch's picture

Thanks for the app, but it eats up insanely high bandwidth rates by just running. This makes no sense for users with a plan instead of a flatrate, they'll never use it.

Do you see any way to reduce this?

krobelus's picture

I will add an option "Wifi only" enabled by default (like Antox does)

krobelus's picture

unfortunately there is no solution for this yet - it seems to use 1KB/s idle

objectifnul's picture

@krobelus I suggest you add Cyanide here
