Just adding my voice to the blinking toggle. Other than that, great patch, hope it will be merged and fixed in the system.

Hello coderus,

thanks a lot for this great idea! :-) I'm using "harbour-visual-dbus-1.0-1.armv7hl.rpm" together with your plugin on Sailfish 2.1.1.24. However, switching ON AlienDalvik with the new toggle works perfectly without any problem.

Unfortunately, if I want to switch OFF AlienDalvik anyhow, the toggle starts blinking forever... The problem just appears when switching OFF, so the "blinking"-mode will never end. Although AlienDalvik was switched off successfully (checked it's status in "Android Support"-launcher), the toggle is still blinking.

This problem appears both when switching off AlienDalvik by toggle OR by "Android Support"-launcher. It doesn't matter which one you use, the toggle will definitely start blinking. :-) To stop the blinking mode, you have to manually remove the toggle from the favourites menue and add it again.

Do you have any idea about this behaviour?

Thank you very much for your help! :-)

With best regards!
Bramba

Fatal error: nothing provides nemo-qml-plugin-dbusnext-qt5 needed by jolla-settings-aliendalvik-button-0.1.0-1.noarch

Seems like the package nemo-qml-plugin-dbusnext-qt5 needs a build for x86 :)

coderus's picture

yeah, or change it to work on normal dbus module.

Louis's picture

Any difference on your dbusnext vs. dbus found in Sailfish?

Very Strange, I have two Jollas and on one of them the icons of Android Toggle and the Powersave Icons are gone after the update to 2.0.1.7. Tried to uninstall and reinstall and did also several reboots without success. Any ideas?

Bobsikus's picture

hi, i don't see this addon as switch in favourites, it works just like quicklink to the settings (otherwise it works), also for "powersave toggle switch". I don't know if it is related to recent System update, or if only I have these problem...

coderus's picture

tap and hold on switch and select "Add to favorites"

Bobsikus's picture

yes, I know :) I have it in favourites, but it is there just as shortcut to the settings sub-menu (when I click it, it links me to the aliendalvik settings, where I can run it or stop it), it does not work as "switch", as you have it on the picture

coderus's picture

you should add switch to favorites, not menu entry

Bobsikus's picture

oooh, my bad, i didn't know there is a difference, I didn't know I can do that separately :) sorry to bother you, works ! :)

<mode-never-satisfied ON>

Is it possible to prevent AlienDalvik from auto-starting itself at next boot?

<mode-never-satisfied OFF>
coderus's picture

No idea, sorry. Ask in TJC.

objectifnul's picture

I know the trick, thanks anyway. Just looking for a simple way to do it without command line. Maybe some future patch?

coderus's picture

i don't know your trick

Louis's picture

I think by "the trick" the means disabling the alien-dalvik at boot like mentioned here: https://together.jolla.com/question/60500/alien-dalvik-how-to-stop-autos... under "Disabling the Alien Dalvik at startup (it will start when you want to)"

Excellent, as usual. I'm afraid a new donation is coming soon ;)
