ParkingDisk Reminder

Your rating: None Average: 5 (11 votes)

Ever forgot about your parking-disk in time-restricted free parking zones, commonly found in Europe? This simple Sailfish app keeps track of your free parking time, calculates the minutes left and reminds you when your parking time ends. It does NOT replace your parking disk, which of course you still have to place on the dash of your car.

Swipe down to choose a countdown as permitted by road signs: 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours. The countdown will start automatically. Five minutes before the countdown ends, a short sound will remind you of your car. Another alarm will be played when time expires.

About the bonus park minutes to the next half/full hour: I also know this rule from German traffic laws but is it the same for all the EU countries?

Are you planning to release this in the Jolla Store? Also, I'd like to help translating to Finnish, if not yet implemented (haven't installed the app).

Actually that is the way such time-restricted parking zones, where you need to put a parking-disk visible in your car, work. When you park your car let's say in a 30-minute free parking zone, you turn your parking disk to the next half hour... and the countdown starts from there. So the minutes untill that half hour you get as bonus minutes added to 30 minutes of free parking. So depending when you place your car, you can park up to 29 minutes more. Confusing, I know. :)

As a matter of a fact, you are wrong. That "trick" is true in Germany (and others?) but not in all countries in the EU. Therefore, you may want to correct the "bug" in some way, if possible?

Latest version supports setting your country's specific rule. Hope that helps.

Excellent! We also have a 30 minutes bonus in Switzerland.

Um... The Jolla Clock app does basically the same thing already...

Love the idea. Do think there is still a bug. If I choose 30 minures, the timer is set to 50 minutes.
