SAILFINDER V4.X!

The development of all my apps (except for BeRail) will be resumed after Q4 2019 due my master thesis. You can still report bugs, ask for new features, ... in the mean time! The last update until then will be V4.8-0.
Sailfinder is an unofficial Tinder client for Sailish OS. https://sailfinder.dylanvanassche.be
Features:
- Like, dislike, superlike people
- View their profile, pictures, bio, schools, jobs, ...
- Upload & remove pictures
- Notifications
- View your matches, send them messages and unmatch them
- GIF support
- Edit your profile: change your search criteria, discoverable, ...
- Phone and Facebook login support, in collaboration with Daneos.
- Modern Sailfish Silica UI and a blazing fast C++ backend
FAQ:
Help! I can't login:
- Check your username and password.
- Check if your account hasn't been flagged by Facebook for unauthorized access. This can be done by logging into Facebok using your browser and answer some security questions to make sure you are the one that logged in.
- If you use an older Sailfish OS version then you should do an update first before using Sailfinder.

Is your phone number verified? it uses Facebook Accountkit to login, if your number is blocked, it will not work.
Can you login through the web interface of Tinder?

Login through Phone doesn't work I do confirm. When making an input, no sms with code is arriving.

Try to login onto the Tinder web client and verify your phone number. This is changed in one of their updates.
Sailfinder doesn't support that yet and I am not able to add it right now.

On Xperia the signup doesnt work when display mode is dynamic, you cant see Facebook user and password field. Also Tinder now allows Facebook free signup and that should become the default app option

It does update your position at launch, it's up to Tinder to accept this though...
@ launch Sailfinder will try to acquire a position fix (accuracy < 1000m), after 10 updates from the GPS, it will use the best available option when no fix was acquired.
If you activate GPS and launch Sailfinder then normally you should see that your device is searching for GPS.

It does show the gps icon at the startup but it doesn't update in sailfinder while a map app show the right position. with my old jolla 1 und sailfinder v 3.x this was working. I also found another Bug. My Profile at Sailfinder says I'm 30 while real Tinder says 29 (which is right), I wonder if it shows everyone a year older?

Indeed, my age is also off by one, I fixed this in V4.1 (the issue is the birthdate privacy fuzzing which causes the difference).
I don't understand what you exactly mean with the correct position? Tinder uses now close by points and not the exact location, for example: your real location is somewhere outside of London, Tinder will set your location to the centre of London.

Okay, I didn't know that Tinder isn't working with exact locations, but thats not really the problem. A week ago I went to France (80 km from my hometown in Germany) and although I can't see what position Tinder is currently using I can tell by the fact that every person that is shown has a french profile that I'm somehow "stuck in France" :D

Oh I understand what you mean however, I couldn't test this completely but I just follow how Tinder the location update does :p
I suggest you try the webclient of Tinder and see if the location then updates... If it does, let me know :)

Is there a possibility in 4.0-1 to open someone's profile page again after a match?

Not yet but it's on the roadmap for V4.1 which will be Harbour compatible. I'm waiting on the Sailfish Community meeting for the QtFeedback module in Harbour.
If that module won't be allowed, I need to make a workaround for Harbour and then I will include the profile for matches too :)

Hi, I installed Sailfinder a few days ago again after not using it for about a year. I did a lot of swiping in the last days but I didn't get a single match. Is there any way to find out if everything is working as it should or if my profile gets shown to other people?

Have you send GIFs? When sending a lot of GIFs to a match it takes time to download them all to thr local cache
Anyway, in order to help you better please provide the log files to: dylan(write a point here)van(write a point here)assche(at @ here)protonmail(write a point here)com
You can find the log files here: /home/nemo/.cache/harbour-sailfinder/logging
Also clearing the local cache may also help: delete using a filebrowser the following directory: /home/nemo/.cache/harbour-sailfinder
and also: /home/nemo/.config/harbour-sailfinder

Use a filebrowser and delete the harbour-sailfinder folder in /home/nemo/.config (enable hidden files!)
This will reset everything and try again, works OK here.
