Your calendar icon will show you the current day of the month. Works on Sailfish OS 2.0.2+.
You can simply customize the icons (to change icon pack or add your own holidays) by following these steps.

Please ignore my previous comment. It seems the missing file has now been restored in place by Jolla. Thank you anyway...

First of all, a big thank you for all your work from a fellow Italian.
Before updating my Xperia X to 3.0.1.11 I removed this app to ensure a clean update (maybe not needed, but I prefer to be sure). The update was successful, but now dyncal does not install any more. It says: File './non-oss/noarch/sailfish-tutorial-data-0.2.3-1.8.1.jolla.noarch.rpm' not found on medium 'https://releases.jolla.com/releases/3.0.1.11/jolla/armv7hl'.

Great app. It's not often that I can impress people with my phone. The Halloween cover made my kids envious!

Today (01/01/2018) the day number isn't displayed, instead 2017 is displayed with 20 on one line and 17 on the line below.

Hello Fravaccaro, DynCal and DynClock are much appreciated, yet I have some difficulties with these. I am not sure if it is due to the latest Sailfish updates, but since a few months the Calendar icon starts moving to below all the other apps on my Jolla. It happens at night. Removing and re-installing does not help. It's not even possible to remove it.
I hope that this does not happen with my new Xperia and soon with Sailfish on it!
With DynClock I also experience something weird: the icon has disappeared, it's a black spot now with the word 'Clock' only. When I tap on it, the Clock functions normally. It is impossible to delete the Clock app. It simply does not go away.

It seems you need to rename the calendar icons 1.png, 2.png, ... 9.png in /usr/share/harbour-dyncal/icons to 01.png etc. Or you wait to the 10th of the month ;-) Or you wait for an update of the app. But I don't know more about this fault and fravaccaro needs to take a look into this.

Fixed, sorry for the inconvenience :) I redone the pictures but - as you noticed - I mistakenly omitted a 0.

I have a previous version installed, yet warehouse doesn't recognize it as installed anymore. Now I refreshed your repo and tried to install the latest version getting a dep-resolution-failed error
hebrew-icon-calendar-0.1-3.armv7hl obsoletes harbour-dyncal provided by harbour-dyncal-0.4.1-1.noarch
I never installed any hebrew-calender stuff. What?

Israeli holidays includes the obsolete function in the spec, so if you have Schturman's repo enabled, a system upgrade may have automatically uninstalled my DynCal and installed his.

Have you thought about changing icon shape to square? This way day number would always fit and holiday icons would look way better.

Well, the aim is to keep the icon look and shape as close as possible to the stock one.
I'm not closed to your idea, though :)

I uploaded a new version which should fix the issue (in case of any trouble in the future, usually a home screen refresh is enough) - I tried on my phone running the launcher combined patch and everything seems to work fine.

This isn't update the date, only when I restart HS or phone. What's wrong? I tested on 1.1.9.28 .

Hi, it looks like Sailfish OS doesn't trigger the daemon while the device is in deep-sleep state, while it's triggered during normal usage and pre-sleep state. I'm looking for an alternative solution, sorry for the inconvenience.
If anybody can help, I'm uploading the source on github.com, just look for my nickname on there.
[EDIT] Fixed, hope it works for you (at least it does during my testing).

Thank you for dynamic calendar icon.
I've installed yesterday and it's displayed 22, but today (23) it still displays 22.
How can I solve this problem?

I have enabled your repository just to get this. Fantastic, thank you!
Two silly questions:
1. Could we have a similar one for the clock icon? :)
2. How did you get the little icons in the folder captions in the attached picture? It looks cool!
